out of curiosity, do members think that snow depth estimates for the SE are way over the top?.....throughout today the heaviest PPN has been over the north midlands and north of the country, or is the frontal system forecasted to receive an injection of energy?......
yes, just been out with the kids again...I would say nearly 2 inches of laying snow now, and still coming down thick & fast...what a great saturday, with the rugby still to come!
afternoon folks, looking forward to getting buried in the white stuff tonight?.....Should be a good event for those in the SE
Okey dokey, am going to open up a new thread, so will be closing this one shortly
the highlighted bit is critical.......I would like the frontal triple point to stay to our south west (if only by a few miles) then we should stay on the right side of marginal...it really is nip and tuck!.....pop in the North West thread as Liam J posted a nice image a few minutes ago of where the triple point currently lies
where the two fronts occlude means the warm sector (triple point) is pushed away so less mixing of the uppers....if you have snow, you have a greater chance of an all snow event..if your south of where the fronts occlude and you have rain/sleet then you're likely to stay as rain/sleet....hope this helps
