  1. To coin a phrase, I'd rather french kiss a skunk! :w00t:
  2. nice sentiment matey ...There's a reasonable chance of snow here in Penkridge early tomorrow morning, normally that would put a big fat smile on my face, but there's a flaw in the cunning plan, we're leaving at 7am tomorrow to see the family in Devon and will probably miss anything up here!
  3. you must send me up there, I'd sort it out, the amount of salty tears I've cried today over lack of snowfall would soon melt those ice sheets away
  4. I hear that apparently it rained hard in stoke today, you know the sort of white flakey rain that leaves white deposits on the ground :winky:
  5. not "The wetaher always pays its debts."....you need to go to specsavers!
  6. I'm up in the midlands, and the shortwave is actually weakening quite markedly and it's mainly a rain/sleet event currently
  7. ok, disappointing for many it may well be, but re. venting posts, lets try and keep it constructive, by that I mean, have a moan, but add something to it, not just '"its rubbish ......" cheers
  8. posts like that make my dreaded 'finger of doom' hover over the delete button! :winky: well, checked the conservatory roof, nope no splats there, well, apart from the usual bird poop
  9. no it isn't I'm afraid, nothing but rain here with a hint of sleetyness...what a let down (and I don't say that very often!)
  10. oh dear, it's raining here as the lighter precip from the shortwave edged in, hopefully as it turns heavier over the next few minutes it will turn to snow
  11. hello everyone...We've had sleet & snow flurries off and on all morning, and now shortwave is enhancing ppn to the north & west, so a reasonable chance of most parts seeing something wintry sometime this afternoon....Here's the latest radar to illustrate where the ppn is, and it's worth baring in mind that the showers are sinking southwards whilst training SE along the shortwave..
  12. snowing here in Penkridge, nice cheshire gap shower
  13. morning troopers ...just had a light snow/grauple shower ,activity developing through the cheshire gap, so interested in what develops today, probably rain/sleet showers at lower levels, potentially heavy snow showers for places in the gap with elevation
  14. well, well, it's actually snowing here, very light, but definite flakes of snow
  15. stop!! you'll have me slashing my ankles with a blunt knife in a minute!
  16. that's what you get for being a northerner.... it makes for a strange radar loop to be honest in the past hour, precip builds, then dies away, then builds etc etc etc...uppers here now are around -4C and dewpoints between 0 & 1C, so its close, just a real shame that for here the precip isn't heavy enough to change the current sleety rain into snow, still there is still a window of opportunity (although it's narrowing for us) and then for us it's eyes to the north west tomorrow to see what this little shortwave does if it verifies from model outputs
  17. ppn on the increase now here....ppn to my west is pivoting and starting to slowly slide east & south east, not south, at least not to my eye....If the undercut of colder air is to happen, it has to happen soon from an IMBY perspective....Still, it's nice to see that many areas of the midlands will see some snowfall during the small hours.....It's also nice to see that some of the pessimism that has permeated through this thread at times during the last 24 hours has been shown to be somewhat unfounded
  18. all very interesting chaps, but can we keep on topic please?.....cheers
  19. lol.....my eyes are on all that lovely ppn building in north & west Wales & that stuff off the Welsh coast...I'm tempting fate, but I think that's got our name written on it later on
  20. Here & there, ducking & diving...lol......Penkridge, 5 miles west of Cannock...You're not from the Inland Revenue are you?...
  21. Was lamp-post watching for a while, nothing to report apart from 2 moths doing a snow dance..The neighbours think I'm stalking, hope I don't get another restraining order!
  22. The Penkridge snow/ppn shield is up & running as these two radar returns show....lol
  23. all quiet here at the mo...There is ppn nearby (well, showing on radar) but actual conditions are dry....Hoping the wrap-a-round over north Wales will feature here later on in the night, as I feel the bulk of the ppn in the South & SW mIdlands will not reach here...(I'm about 20 miles NW of brum)
  24. Excellent, make sense...I just thought you were barking mad.... ............
