  1. I’d be happy at 24c, over that and it’s a bit uncomfortable but having said that I lived in the Middle East and it rarely got below 24c even in winter but aircon was everywhere.
  2. Yikes, that used to be my commute to work. Shows the warnings were correct
  3. Nice storm just passing by. Got out of the car and thought someone was setting off a shotgun next door
  4. I lived in the Middle East for a few year. Yes it's lovely to know it's not going to rain for the next few months but you spend 99% of your time inside, be it at home or in the mall. Not opening your windows from April until October. I missed clouds, rain, wind. We had some spectacular storms but maybe twice a year, helped with some cloud seeding. Other than that it was just sun, sun, sun, rarely even a cloud. It gets boring after a while. I would like to have somewhere I could escape to for a few weeks at a time in the winter for a bit of sun in the Med
  5. They do cloud seeding a lot as well. Quite hard to forecast the weather as it has a helping hand. I've experienced some really un-natural storms out there
  6. I can concur, we were travelling through Thirsk yesterday and the flooding was terrible. Sutton Bank was equally bad but it was obviously just rolling down the hill.
  7. My friend took this in Newton Aycliffe facing towards Darlington. pretty clean looking funnel
  8. It is. Strange as it went a little dark and I thought I'll check the radar to see if I should bring the washing in and I got the message it's only a mile or so from me
  9. Yes, my friend has an excellent picture. Need to check if I can post it
  10. Just spotted by a work colleague on the West side of Darlington
  11. Agreed, it takes months to become acclimatised to temperature and if you don't have air con it can cause serious issues. Even with air con me and my kids suffered for months in the Middle East with skin conditions, dizzy spells etc.
  12. How strange, it's clearing up then flash and loud thunder quickly afterwards. Rumbling for quite a while
  13. They hit the edge of Darlington and lost their power There was the odd rumble though
  14. The storm didn't get the memo, thunder and lightening as we speak and my daughter is out on an army cadet away day she will be like a drowned rat
  15. Lightening and heavy rain. This has just appeared on the radar in the last 5 minutes
  16. Getting dark, rain started and distant rumbles from the West of Darlington
  17. Been out in the Dales for the day, sun was out but showers on the road. Got back to Darlington and floods. BMW burnt out his turbo trying to get through one flood. Rain gauge has 26mm of rain so far. Hoping for something from the south later
  18. If you search D-Day on the Met Office site there is a lot of information on there for you to read
  19. 2c according to the car but felt colder than yesterday with frost. I guess more moisture in the air makes it feel that way?
