  1. We get that but you are not going to get cold surface temps with uppers of 10-15!! Eventually over the days the warmth will phase out but that is not what we are talking about here
  2. Don't move the goal posts. The chart I referred to had uppers of 10-12c. Your showing a chart with uppers around 0!! . My initial point stands.
  3. I think all will be revealed were were heading come this weekend! The devil will be in the detail. I think all the signs are there now for something much colder come Christmas. I think aswell we will be close to deep cold into January but as always if deep cold is nearby can still be narrowly missed, before a milder reset/turn.. Not under a high with uppers like that mate
  4. Looks like we may get a toppler out of this, Waa about to go up just wrong side of greenland.
  5. I think a lot of people need to lower their expectations on what charts are needed for snow. Who would have thought this chart here would be dropping settling snow down to just 50m in places.. These awesome easterlies/ north easterlies with -15 uppers are as rare as a pork chop in a synagogue, all that is needed this time of year is -5 uppers and an atlantic system attacking with the right trajectory into the cold air! 6. Bet a lake effect streamer like that doesn't affect Cumbria again even in the next 50 years . Couldn't believe what I was seeing
  7. Fair point. For me this is 3rd day running we've got atleast a dusting of snow with a light covering this morning.. Very memorable for this time of year. So maybe a bit IMBYism.. But look at the event parts of Cumbria had yesterday, the North East, parts of Scotland and a small part of Midlands have seen some snowfall.. So not exclusively in my kneck of the woods. Point is doesn't take much for unexpected events for good snowfall when ya get locked into -5 uppers for few days.. Unfortunately for the South it just wasn't your turn.

  9. Moderate snow now here (63m) settling on most surfaces, a little bit wet, frustratingly about 30m just too low..
  10. Lovely big fat flakes falling whilst watching uncle buck on tv, doesn't get any more Christmassy than this! Not going to settle but is what it is
  11. From looking at models I think a few places above 200m may see a little snowfall over next few hours, but the snow line will rise to 400m to the south of our region and 300m further north.. 2m temps and dew points rising overnight.
  12. Suprised it's settling that low down, brings a few people into the game. Probably not enough for the <100m club Your not wrong there mate
  13. Showing 0c with dew point -1c leeds bradford airport, might give you a slither of a chance. Top of Otley chevin might do well.
  14. . Glad I didn't stay up to track it and it would have thawed a bit anyway so no big loss now. Let's see what tonight brings, probably just cold rain.. lower atmosphere very saturated now and dew point wrong side of freezing so little chance of a nice surprise later
  15. Optimistically looking at all that precipitation to the southwest and hoping it can make it here this afternoon and as snow ; ) . Nothing forecast until evening though and only supposed to be light. Heavier stuff expected tomorrow morning.
  16. Think we might see some snow tonight into tomorrow, with further accumulations. But obviously not the same when there will be an immediate thaw after. Yeah think there are definitely bigger cold spells to come, fingers crossed.
  17. Similar amounts here in Kippax perhaps a bit less. A bit disappointed that the heavier stuff stayed just south of here rather than what was modeled (was supposed to be a bit further north the heavier stuff.)
  18. Think Skipton looks a cert to get in this band not too long from now. Once Skipton is in game not a million miles from western suburbs of leeds.
