    Very disappointing those in the South and towards midlands are missing out on the battleground set up for mid-week next week. dont get many chances for a big dumping and its heading in to France it seems now

    So what do we need to look for for those south of the midlands to receive a snow event and not snow to rain?? Colder air digging in further south before the LP arrives from the south west?? Or the LP to take a more southerly route through northern France?? What is the perfect setup so the vast majority here receives snow , stays as snow and what is the likelihood of this at the moment?? Any models showing this??

    I know others have said the same thing and people say there’s no truth in it but it always seems like the early morning runs improve through out the day…may explain the constant down beat moods first thing. Surely it’s a pattern and not just perception

    Gong to be some right pants pulled down here unfortunately if this does turn out to be standard January weather from mid month. That’s not a dig or anything like that as all the teleconnectiins etc pointed towards that. More so points to the fact that nearly all most understood drivers were lining up in a positive way and the technical guys feeling comfortable yet “maybe” the blinking wheels are still falling off .

    Quick question. I know we have a graph which compare the performance of the various models (ECM, GFS, etc) but do they do that for each per run. Like which one performs best 06z, 12z etc…is the performance of those captured too??

    Kasim I think the trouble most people have on here is the flip flop of live model viewing commentary. It’s like watching a football match and when one team has the ball for 10 seconds saying this team is looking like they are going to win. Then the next team gains possession and saying no They are not the other team are about to score and win. Then this keeps repeating each time a side gains possession or has a few shots etc…. Catch my drift?? Take 5 watch how it pans out and put a balanced view together

    I know the old saying is get the cold in and the snow will follow….but over recent years it seems any kind of snowy breakdown of such has disappeared with just rainy breakdowns. Put this down to the climate change but hopefully we can make this different this year .

    That’s it now I think….long summer then batten down the hatches for next winter. East QBO with a El Niño gives an excellent chance for a harsh winter next. Here’s hoping guys!

    How do you view the met office warnings that detail each borough affected?? Like torfaen, Glamorgan etc…?

    There’s talk of the front that’s bringing the snow to northern parts to pivot tonight and push back down south with cold air undercutting and bring the snow back down to the south before it clears away east!
