    I remember 82 too...I was 6! Can remember the snow piling up outside the patio window...kept going up and up and up! Unbelievable the size of the drifts. Would love a repeat just to show younger generations real snow depths!

    From what I could see it looks like blowing up the lies a bit more but doesn’t go out as far as the gfs...I do hope it follows the GEM! I want a few disruptive snow events with cold locking in them like the good old days

    I’ve got a horrible feeling that we will see some significant snow midweek next week but it will soon turn mild and go to rain gfs and ukmo now look like them lows will quickly barrel through us instead of slow and stalling

    The only worry is that when we get an approach from the south west is that it’s not as short lived spell of snow. We really need the blocking to hold firm up north. Not sure if we are going to see much snow to be honest before any possible attack from the west

    It’s not nation wide tho ...looks dry for western side of England and all of wales

    Usually....but I’ve noticed that over the last 2 weeks the low pressure has tracked further north than modelled which maybe of a concern

    I know shouldn’t be mentioned but it is kind of model related but various professional forecasts bone dry for everywhere south of north England from weekend in to next week...hope they are not seeing something in other models that supports that low not dropping south

    What I don’t understand is why don’t fronts push from east to west at all?? Always reach midlands at best in an easterly...well mostly

    I think we will be pleasantly surprised come 11 am tomorrow...will have an afternoon of rain turning to snow. Elevation and inland areas ( not too far inland) will help with any settling. Then got Sunday and next week to look forward too
