    For sure, the ECMWF 12z operational turns into an absolute peach for summer fans, massive upgrade compared to yesterdays 12z longer term!!!!!..I say bring it on!!!..we are now into the final month of this meteorological summer and there’s plenty of time for cool unsettled Atlantic dross in autumn!!!!!!!! ….let’s make the most of summer shall we?…

    For sure, the ECMWF 0z ensemble mean is better than the operational for summer fans, especially further s / se.. ….as for the Gfs 0z op… it’s a cracker!!

    Although the GEFS 12z mean indicates less settled by mid month, some members keep the summery theme going into the second half, especially further south!…in any case, Exeter mentioned today that roughly mid month could see a breakdown?..however, it certainly isn’t set in stone and todays update was much better for the most part than the last few days! Anyway, it looks like there’s still plenty of life left in this summer…hopefully autumn can wait..until…erm Autumn!!

    I’m not buying what the Gfs 12z operational is selling!..the GEFS 12z mean on the other hand! …peachy!

    The Gfs 12z operational in low res showed some very weclome rain towards mid August across a large swathe of the u k!!…fingers crossed! 🌧 ️

    How..why is it so quiet in here?..I just don’t understand?..we could be looking at a pretty much lovely first half of August?!…hey, I know we’ve broken records and everything else may seem like..after the Lord Mayor’s show!..but, really, the GEFS 6z mean looks pretty good, you have to admit! ️…summers in the u k are too short, we should embrace the summery weather potential..for sure.. before Autumn! .. HAPPY AUGUST.. . !!!.. !

    Looking at the GEFS 6z mean, especially from the mid term onwards!..there’s clearly a marked improvement pretty much nationwide in terms of settled / summery weather…of course, the s / se has plenty of summery weather before that….you don’t say.. ! ️

    Just catching up!… I’m seeing plenty of Azores ridging on the GEFS mean…… across at least the southern half of the u k ?…so, that’s a good sign that there is plenty of summery weather still to look forward to during the rest of the meteorological summer!..probably not the extreme heat we saw recently but more conventional very warm / hot spells, especially further s / se seem the form horse! ️ ⛈

    How could I miss this?..the ECM 0z ensemble mean eventually turns quite summery again across southern parts of the u k !!!..there’s plenty of life left in this summer, I’m not suggesting 40c again but 30’s celsius, for sure!!

    There’s quite a lot of ridging on the GEFS 6z mean, so it could potentially be at least a decent late summer?!…we’ve had our first 40c ever recorded, if summer ended right now it would be the ultimate record breaker!.. . ..however, there could still be plenty of summer to come according to these perturbations.. the day ain’t over yet!!?

    For sure, the Azores ridge / high is on friendly terms with Good old Blighty beyond the next few days according to the ECM 12z op, some fluctuations with temperatures but predominantly fine for the majority! ️

    Yoda wasn’t impressed with the Gfs 12z operational.. ..having said that, it still shows a very warm / hot few days end of July further s / se!…

    The GEFS 6z CONTROL run isn’t so bad…right yoda!!!!!!!!!!!?… …fingers for early August!

    Here’s a small sample from the GEFS 6z, the mean indicates quite a ridgy outlook, and these..selective.. … .perturbations back that up.. with power to add! …the bottom line is, I’m a summer fan, I don’t like cool unsettled crud infecting summer!.. I like summer to be… erm…summery! ️

    The Gfs 0z operational saves the best until last as far as nationwide settled summery weather is concerned but actually it’s another mostly great run for southern parts of the u k with predominantly fine very warm / hot conditions, occasionally into the low 30’s celsius!….summer continues to be very much alive and kicking, especially further s / se as we head towards the end of July and into early August according to this run! ️

    There’s lots to like about the Gfs 0z operational, plenty of fine weather with warmth / heat, especially further s / se, but also some welcome water for the gardens at times…a very good run for mid / late summer in my opinion! ️ ⛈

    Essentially, in a nutshell, the Gfs 0z operational shows a broadly north / south split throughout, ergo, the south / southeast looks driest, brightest and warmest but is not immune from some rain / thundery showers BUT it’s the north, especially Scotland, which looks generally unsettled and much cooler whereas the south / southeast becomes very warm at times with some decent ridging and the best of the sunshine.

    The Gfs 6z operational shows a largely fine and pleasantly warm start to August!

    The Gfs 0z op is going for a very hot and sticky start to next week too, perhaps another 100F plus! …

    I love the fact we are going to witness the highest temperature ever recorded in the u k!….amber / red warnings! ..I love record breakers..every Friday.. 5 pm..yess..bring on the heat! ..am I a crazy person..absolutely.. then they smash them all to bits..,! … 41c .. that will do it..
