    All things considered, looking through the GEFS 12z members, P22 would be a pretty good result for the coldies! I wouldn’t rule it out at the moment for sure! $

    There’s a moment there when the ECM 12z op piqued my interest!..ultimately it amounted to nothing but even looking at the Gfs 12z run, temperatures are quite subdued at times and nothing like as mild as coldies have had to endure this autumn so far!…fingers crossed this will bode well for when the meteorological winter commences in just over two weeks henceforth!

    In future, I’m not going to comment on a run until it’s completed!…I missed these Gems from the GEFS 12z in late nov!…never mind footballs coming home..as a coldie, I’m hoping winters coming home…. Soon! …where’s mair snaw?I mean where’s my snow dammit!

    P15 isn’t far away from an early taste of winter?… hey, at least I’m trying…yes frosty…..very! ….at least England won the World Cup…nah, not football!.. cricket.. much better.. crickets coming home.. it’s coming home, it’s coming home..etc etc.. !

    The GEFS 12z, here and there longer term is trying to bring some wintry cheer to coldies in the form of an easterly / northerly!….I must admit to being very bored by this obnoxiously mild autumn now, day in day out, night in night out, weathermen saying another very mild day…pffffft….however, I think the wheel will turn and coldies will be grinning from ear to ear at some point in the next three or four months! ️

    On the cusp of the meteorological winter, P3 would do for me…hey, it even rhymes!

    For the love of god, please throw me a bone!! …at least the GEFS shows some cold potential, I’ve seriously had enough of record breaking mild now.. pffft.... please give coldies a break already… roll on winter! ️

    Not for the first time today, a chance, albeit slim for coldies to look east regarding mid / late November…well, better than always looking south innit!

    I think it’s about time coldies had something interesting to look at instead of the frankly ridiculously mild autumn so far which I’m fed up of!…if the models stick with this trend regarding mid month onwards, I’m sure we will see something that will make all the sacra members very happy…patience guys!

    The end of the Gfs 0z operational would appear to be a long shot when you look at the mean in that extended range..BUT…there is a modicum of support from a few ensembles which have similar ideas so it can’t be ruled out completely!

    The CFS…. …don’t laugh! does at least show some interest for coldies in FI! ️

    Although this is day 10…coldies should like the direction of travel from the ECM 0z operational from this point! …and the Gfs 0z op for that matter too…encouraging for sure!!

    Looking at tonight’s ECMWF 12z ensemble mean / operational, for sure it looks like the SE in particular will benefit from next weeks gradual change to high pressure and very mild / warm conditions too for the time of year…away from the SE and especially across the NW, for sure, less unsettled than currently, recently but still exposed to some Atlantic influence, especially later…but this generally remarkably mild autumn still has plenty of power to add it seems!

    There’s some interesting GEFS 12z members longer term!.. for coldies.. ….fingers crossed the last third of November will be the appetizer to the main course served in early December…hmmm. I’m hungry now!

    I agree Ed...l mean Pete ..cold rain does nothing for me! ...anyhoo, perhaps the models were exaggerating the settled extended outlook they showed yesterday! until the 18z at least?!

    These GEFS 6z members would teach those dastardly early daffodils a lesson they would never forget!

    There seems to have been something of a downgrade in the anticyclonic bore fest further outlook since yesterday, suddenly…..at least for now!…the GEFS 6z mean and ECM 0z ensemble mean appear to back me up on that! …for sure, the models are keeping us on our toes.. something of a NW / SE split…hmmm?.. !

    Hey, we are slaves to what the models show!…I mean, what is the alternative?..pine cones?.. hey, I saw a rainbow this morning..maybe that’s a good sign?! It might be changeable!

    The ECM 0z operational longer term shows the Atlantic putting up a fight whereas some other models go anticyclonic, quite impressive uppers (850’s) too!…I reckon there will be daffodils well before Christmas if this very mild autumn continues for much longer! Be afraid, be very afraid! …..

    I take a little break..and look what happens!..nothing!.. …but I don’t mind charts like this in November, let’s get the crud out of the way in time for winter! ….there’s now no doubt about it, height rises from the south are in the bag from the mid range, if it was a northerly in that range I would say, nice eye candy..but NO chance!..but it’s a mild anticyclone so it’s a sure thing… …let’s see what happens when winter arrives….. ..be afraid, be very afraid! !
