  1. I expected better..but then again At least high pressure is soon to take charge for most of the uk with frost and fog apart from the very far nw / n which looks more unsettled.
  2. Yeah let's hope its lack of critical data day and the models start showing a deep freeze soon dammit! Mo update stinks. As usual!
  3. Get well soon, Lord knows coldies deserve a lucky break or two this winter, it's been as dreadful as last winter so far and today takes the prize as being the mushiest mild dross so far! The only way is up.
  4. Merry Christmas all, hope you are all having a great day, it's the best day of the year in my opinion.. weatherwise it's been very grim so far this winter for coldies but there are signs in the latest model output for a colder early 2017..here's hoping it's a cold happy New year for coldies who..let's face it, deserve some luck for a change..surely even the mildest of mild rampers wouldn't begrudge coldies some entertainment would they?
  5. Merry Christmas to everyone on Netweather and for all the coldies, let's hope for a wintry early 2017..we sure deserve some luck!
  6. It's all about encouraging signs, and they have been plentiful from the Gfs 00z op run onwards, indeed, there were signs yesterday too.
  7. Even a toppler scenario would be grabbed at right now, considering we haven't even had a toppler so far so it's a step in the right direction for sure!
  8. Agreed, it's an evolving situation, less dross, more encouragement for the new year!
  9. The Gfs 6z shows a chance of a white christmas evening and night across scotland and the snow showers risk extends south across remaining northern parts through boxing day.
  10. Yes karlos it's very encouraging, the best potential so far this winter which will hopefully translate into a very cold snowy spell early in the new year..it would be what long suffering coldies deserve!
  11. Well Ramp, if next weeks high leads to this, it will be worth the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  12. Ecm 12z looks strongly anticyclonic next week with night frosts and fog, could be worse, at least there are no southwesterly zephyrs! T+240 looks like the Gem
  13. That's an impressive anticyclone being modelled by the Gfs 12z centred to the e / se next week bringing fine cool days and cold nights with slight frosts and fog patches across England and Wales, too much breeze for fog further n / w.
  14. Yes it's almost as if the uk weather has a sick sense of humour isn't it Anyway, at least with a 1040-1045mb anticyclone building in next week, most of the uk should see a return of frosty nights and cool, crisp days.
  15. Well Ed, the alcohol will help numb the pain of yet another mild Christmas but I remain hopeful of a change in fortunes for long suffering snow starved coldies at some point in the new year.
  16. Merry green christmas to you too Fred, hopefully the models will look better for deep cold at some point during January.
  17. Well I think that is looking likely with a return of frost and fog which would be similar to late Nov / early Dec but it looks more changeable / unsettled across northern parts of the uk, especially the far northwest..still a chance of Atlantic height rises during Jan with a northerly incursion possible.
  18. According to the GEFS 6z mean it's high pressure here we come, especially for the south of the uk which lasts well into the new year.
  19. But parts of the s / e could reach 14/15c..phew what a scorcher Christmas blowtorch!
  20. The Gfs 00z shows a very mild breezy / windy christmas day with temps in the 12-14c range across most of England and Wales. More unsettled for most of Ireland & Scotland but still on the mild side.
  21. Next week is looking good for a return of frost / fog with a large 1040 mb area of high pressure building in according to the Ecm 12z. In the meantime, it looks disturbed with bouts of mild, wet and windy weather separated by occasional cold incursions with wintry showers, especially across the north.
