  1. Absolutely, the 12z runs are choc full of potential for snow in a little over a weeks time, far better than the nondescript dross this weekend, next week looks promising for a cold outbreak from the nw veering to the n..bring it on!
  2. Thanks..hopefully I will..encouraging signs for snow starved coldies from around this time next week onwards. This week has been / is nice and cold with widespread frosts but hopefully, after the milder nondescript blip this weekend we will see a marked change setting the stage for snow and we will see snow if the 12z runs are on the right track.
  3. The Ecm 12z turns into a thing of beauty which even aces the Gfs run and snow, the missing ingredient so far this winter would certainly arrive if either the gfs or ecm are close!..could be exciting stuff later next week onwards..hopefullycheers gang
  4. Sorry if it wasn't helpful but it's what the Gfs 12z shows from 7 / 8 days ahead, our first stonking arctic outbreak, especially severe in northern uk..please verify!
  5. That's one hell of a cold snap on the Gfs 12z which would produce much wanted snow for some parts of the uk, needless to say I hope the Gfs is on the right track regarding next week, especially the second half when the arctic air arrives! A nondescript weekend coming up but next week could become very interesting / exciting hopefully!
  6. The Gfs 6z is eventually quite pleasing for coldies, especially from later next week onwards when the second stronger cold outbreak arrives from the NW..I'm desperate to see a snowflake as we are now into the fifth week of winter and at least there is some wintry weather showing on the models at times next week, especially for the north, occasionally cold enough for snow, and not just on hills and night frosts with an increasing risk of frosty, foggy settled weather during week 2.
  7. Judging by the latest models I would say we are on track for a couple of polar maritime outbreaks next week, cold enough at times for wintry showers to low levels and night frosts.
  8. Something for long suffering snow starved coldies to smile about on the cusp of 2017 from the 18z..here's hoping for charts like these breaking into the reliable timeframe in January!..Happy New year..again
  9. Low res on the Gfs 18z gives us a nice blast of cold zonality with snow in places.
  10. An increasingly wintry looking GEFS 6z mean for the second half of next week, and that follows the short but sweet Northerly on sun / Mon!..looking good!
  11. Have to say the future is looking bright for coldies I'm happy to report according to the latest models, at last it looks like this winter will wake up with an increasing risk of snow and plenty of frost / fog.
  12. The Gfs 18z shows plenty of snow, especially for scotland..disappointing it certainly isn't, at least for the north. I think this winter has been very disappointing so far, certainly in terms of lack of the white fluffy stuff but there are signs that could change significantly during the next few weeks!
  13. Well, it's been a generally mild winter so far but these current cold frosty nights are nice and we have our first arctic incursion on the horizon with hopefully more cold on the way during early / mid January!
  14. Agreed, the wheels are set in motion before day 10, I hope for all coldies sake that we end up with reloading cold shots similar to the Ecm 12z..it would really kick start this winter!
  15. Well day 10 is worth discussing..a lot when it shows this. I think it would be very boring if we stuck rigidly to the reliable timeframe and didn't comment on the extended range!
  16. Well I gotta say it's about time an Ecm day 10 chart comes true, so many false dawns leading coldies up and down the garden path..just verify already dammit!
  17. I would love to think that T+96 is just a dress rehearsal for T+240 on the Ecm 12z because day 10 is a peach for coldies and there would be snow around too.
  18. Not long to wait for frosty nights under high pressure across England and Wales, the Gfs 6z looks fine and cold as this week goes on..much better than that very mild mush we had yesterday!
  19. Is it too late to say bah humbug Models look better today than yesterday if it's cold wintry weather you fancy for the new year period as most of us do!
  20. Yes it's much better than yesterday, here's hoping..I haven't had anything to ramp so far this winter..hope that's about to change!
  21. Now all we need is for potential to manifest into reality, the Ecm 00z would bring plenty of cheer to coldies as there would also be snow for the first time this winter. It's a reloading cold wintry pattern that most of us want and this run delivers!
  22. So far, wintry weather has been in F1..I mean FI..hope we can go from virtual reality to reality sometime in January
