  1. Tonight's Ecm 12z ensemble mean supports a very pleasant outlook. next week will become sunnier and milder.
  2. I would have said high teens celsius but BA would probably have another dig at me like he did last night.lol
  3. Tonight's Ecm 12z looks good, becoming settled with high pressure building in for several days with milder uppers and next week I think there will be a lot more sunshine and as a result, temperatures will rise into the mid teens celsius and a little higher in favoured spots, it's only by T+240 when cooler Atlantic air returns..it's a nice run.
  4. The Gfs 12z shows winds eventually becoming SEly with more in the way of sunshine, much less cloud by the end of next week for the south and east compared to what we will have throughout Easter, hopefully we will see winds changing to more of a Sly / SEly as time goes on. Next week looks settled with high pressure in control and pleasantly milder than recently, especially when the sun comes out.
  5. The Gfs 6z shows plenty of settled and pleasantly warm weather during the next few weeks, especially across the southern half of the UK where high pressure has the biggest influence, daytime maximum temperatures are variable on this run due to the changing position of the anticyclone, there are some warm days in the south but generally averaging out around mid teens celsius which would be pleasant enough in lengthy sunny spells, nights look cold though with slight frosts where skies clear. The northwest of the UK in particular has occasional unsettled blips but for many it's a predominantly settled outlook.
  6. The Ecm 00z ensemble mean also looks peachy this morning with a prolonged settled outlook and pleasant daytime temperatures but with chilly nights, it looks very good next week with anticyclonic domination.
  7. The GEFS 00z mean looks great this morning for those of us looking forward to a lengthy settled spell. Next week looks increasingly sunny and warmer with temperatures into the 60's F but with cold nights where skies clear.
  8. Easter Monday looks a beauty on this morning's Gfs 00z with favoured spots in the south close to 20 celsius. The ukmo 00z is a peach, as is ecm.
  9. I stick to what I said, favoured spots could reach high teens celsius with a mild SEly airflow and boosted by any prolonged sunshine.
  10. I disagree, I think mid to upper teens celsius from this chart or something similar, like the Gfs 12z showed with a draw of milder / warmer uppers spreading up from the continent towards the end of next week and with the addition of decent sunny spells, I stick to what I said before.
  11. Tonight's Ecm 12z also shows a big change to high pressure domination with the high drifting slowly east to enable a draw of warmer air from southern Europe, the south in particular would become warm later next week with temperatures close to 20 celsius, it's looking good for a decent window of fine and pleasant weather practically nationwide.
  12. The Gfs 12z really blossoms into a pleasantly warm run by the second half of next week onwards with high pressure eventually migrating far enough east to allow a warmer southerly flow to bathe most of the UK by then. This is much better than yesterday's 12z. High pressure domination is on the way, starting cool but gradually becoming warmer with increasing amounts of sunshine as HP works it's way into a more favourable position.
  13. The GEFS 6z mean shows high pressure centred to the west of the UK early next week but there is strong support for it slowly migrating eastwards, eventually this enables warmer air from southern europe to waft north into the UK. Looking at next week, it's dry with sunny spells and light winds, daytime temps gradually creeping to just above average, especially in prolonged sunshine but nights will be chilly with a risk of frosts where skies clear. It's a very pleasant outlook with high pressure domination until at least mid month.
  14. The Gfs 6z shows increasingly settled weather from the Easter weekend onwards with high pressure taking control, during the transition period as the orientation of the high changes, temperatures ebb and flow with alternating mild and chilly days and night frosts but gradually the anticyclone migrates further east which enables a progressively warmer and more humid unstable airmass to push north across the UK with sunshine but also a higher risk of thundery showers breaking out, the run ends cooler and unsettled with westerly winds by mid month.
  15. No downgrades to the fine outlook in my opinion, high pressure looks dominant next week and even further ahead, some will moan that it's not going to be as warm as they would like but to see high pressure sat on top of the UK with dry conditions and light winds, sunny periods and pleasant daytime temperatures is good enough for me, the latest mean charts from gefs and ecm are as good as yesterday.
  16. Tonight's Ecm 12z will please many on here, much better than the Gfs run. The UK based high intensifies next week and migrates slowly east with winds eventually becoming southerly, this turns into a very nice run.
  17. Good news from the GEFS 12z mean, the high drifts slowly east next week, it's nothing like the op which showed the high drifting away northwest. Next week looks fine and dry with light winds and temperatures recovering to average and then slightly above by day but still a risk of night frosts, I think there will be lots of sparkling spring sunshine during next week and further out to mid April.
  18. The Gfs 12z shows an improving Easter weekend as high pressure builds in with Sunday and Monday being the sunniest and warmest days with mid teens celsius and light winds. Then there are changes, the high drifts northwest which allows much colder air to spread from the northeast but the latest met office outlook sounds much nicer. The placement of the high next week is going to make the world of difference in terms of surface conditions as this run shows beyond T+168.
  19. The GEFS 06z mean looks fantastic between Easter and mid April with a strengthening anticyclone over the UK bringing fine and dry conditions with long sunny spells and light winds, temperatures recover to average and then slightly above by day, I'm thinking mid teens Celsius and nearer high teens in prolonged sunshine but cold nights where skies clear. The met office update today is an upgrade on the duration of the anticyclone which now lasts into the middle of April, at least across the southern half of the UK.
  20. The Easter weekend is actually looking ok, it will become dry, winds will become light, there will be a fair amount of cloud, initially at least but there will also be sunny spells and in the sunshine it will feel pleasant but cold nights where skies clear. The GEFS 00z mean is a beauty, it shows high pressure building in over the top of the UK, intensifying and lasting for anything up to two weeks, once the high is established, I think changes will be very slow.
  21. Tonight's Ecm 12z ensemble mean shows high pressure centred to the west of the UK at the beginning of next week but the good news is it slowly migrates further east to become centred directly over the BI, the further east it gets, the better. The latest ecm and gefs mean indicate an anticyclonic outlook beyond T+168 hours with increasing amounts of sunshine and warming up by day but with chilly nights.
  22. Tonight's GEFS 12z mean becomes very settled with high pressure building over the top of the UK, I think there is currently a very good chance that next week will be dry with plenty of sunshine and light winds with temperatures into the 60's F but with chilly nights under clearing / clear skies.
  23. The Gfs 12z brings a gradual improvement through next weekend but it's really from Easter Monday onwards when we see the fine spell take off with much more in the way of sunshine and increasing warmth, the anticyclone intensifies next week, really superb charts for fine and warm weather and there is no Atlantic breakdown, indeed the pattern becomes blocked with mainly dry and settled conditions, I would gladly take what this run shows next week.
  24. The GEFS 06z mean is showing a generally benign, pleasant settled outlook from the Easter weekend onwards, especially by sun/mon which is very encouraging. I'm hoping we will see an increase in sunshine and warmth during next week :-) As you say mushy, fingers crossed.
  25. The Gfs 06z shows a marked improvement in our weather during the second half of the Easter period and much of next week with high pressure intensifying across the UK with dry and increasingly warm and sunny conditions for many areas. Looking further ahead, the south looks best for further settled pleasant spells.
