  1. No weather to speak of, still only 14mm of rain since May 1st and I'm not expecting any weather at all here for the next few days, as usual. Looks delicious over some parts North and West of here over the next couple of days, and I expect alot of people to have relinquished there No Storms badge leaving just me and a few other Parched Peasants floating around.
  2. Lol well another rain band got shot down and obliterated as it hit my shield last night, so i've only picked up 5mm total from this 'wet' spell (total since may 1st = 14mm) I would love it if someone very very close to me has a proper rain measuring tool because we must be close to a record of some type. Anyone in NW10 London or within a couple of miles? (and has accurate recording equipment) No storms, no rain, no nothing - THERE IS NO WEATHER HERE. . . . sick of this crap. . . . I'm moving.
  3. Forget the No Storms Club, I'm starting a No Weather club, why? Because I dont get ANY. Inluding the pathetic drizzle we had today I've amassed 10mm of rain since May 1st. I missed a T Storm by 4 miles to my East today and do not anticipate any more near misses. . .
  4. Yes you are only around 8-10 miles west of me, so we could have similar amounts, I've been a Radar Chimp for the last few months and believe me folks this place has just missed some 5-10mm helpings by only a few miles. So while South and East London were picking up some rain from the edge of shower bands, just to the North and West of London its been a Sahara suck zone. I was being slightly disingenuous when I said 8mm rain in 3 months, I mean since the 1st of may (so 3 months as in May, June and July ) . As TonyH said, I dont have a Rolls Royce rain guage, it's just an old yellow plastic measuring jug sitting on some mud (dry, cracked) and unfortunately I can only put it around 4 meters away from any building because I live in a claustrophobic ant farm. So I'm sure I'm not 100% accurate but I would be very eager to hear other peoples rainfall totals since May 1st - particuarly around me and just to the North and West of london.
  5. We're still on 8mm here for the last 3 months, yet again we managed to miss all the rain bar a few spots.
  6. The GFS 6z shunts the core of the rain over the SE 40-50 miles west which puts a larger area including London into play, but unless it arrives earlier than currently expected then I cant see anything Thundery coming out of it. But at least the gardens will get a water, i never seen grass this parched, well it isn't even grass, it's just looks like straw sprouting from a dry mud.
  7. Well we had a carrot dangled in front of us with yesterdays 12z but now Storm Prospects have been shunted even further east. . . How many tears need to be shed to get a damn storm in this Country  I'm delighted for my fellow Europeans in France and the Low Countries to see them get hit with storm after storm
  8. I suspect I'm the driest location in the UK, I've recorded 8mm of rain since May 1st! and I've only recorded 5 days where rain actually fell in that time (including todays few drips) I live just to the West of Central London where we are packed in like sardines so I admit that I can't record 100% accurate data due to the proximity of other buildings (my guage is only 4 meters from the nearest building) Would be greatful if anyone very close to my location could chime in with there recordings to see how accurate my rain guage is, though I have been particuarly unlucky on a couple of occasions only missing some shower bands by a couple of miles
  9. Looking utterly Thunderless here and I'm starting to get pee'd off with this rubbish. BTW my Storm Shield has developed an Anti-Thundercloud steering mechanism this year - yep thats right folks not only does this puppy deflect any sniff of a storm away from you but should a storm actually penetrate within 25 miles of your location it will cleverly steer the offending storm to the North, West, South and East of you, so now you can laugh at all those unlucky people just a few miles from you getting battered by intense Thunder and Lightning. Now also includes Blue Sky and Pointless Fluff Cloud generator too! . . . . (Oh fiss Off)
  10. It's just been absolutely sick for us hasn't it, never known anything like the last 2 months, we've been within only 10-20 miles of the Storm bands every damn time. London has been a MASSIVE storm shield this year, everyone just outside London in all directions has seen something so far this year but for main London the sick piece of crap shield has deflected everything. Check out the latest radar forecast on the Meto and watch todays storms just missing the west of London - YET AGAIN
  11. I'm in NW Central London (zone 2) and sadly it's nothing more than sporadic moderate rain, certainly no lightning. Essentially poop.
  12. Fork lightning and the customary crack of thunder here in Zone 2
  13. Oh dear, nail in coffin time when someone gets desperate enough to dig out the Moscow runs ROFL At least the rainfall totals will provide something interesting to watch with the weather this week, given the drab crap I've had for the last month I'll take that.
  14. Yup, no shovel required here, just a tea-spoon will be fine. Though it is snowing heavy. . . and settling here in zone 2 EDIT: now light, tea spoons at the ready
  15. Can't find anything positive either, east Kent should have a thread for themselves because it looks depressingly chilly and nothingy for the rest of us. Of course the FI carrot is still dangling strong and I'm sure Yamkin will be along later to cheer us all up with a blizzard chart for March. I'm off to set fire to me sledge. . . BTW moderate snow here in zone 2. . . not settling but temp has really come down, cheered me up just seeing the flakes in the air.
  16. Yeah I agree, if the GFS 6z verifies we'd have a pretty good time of things Sunday to Tuesday. The evolution looks like cack though and let's face it, Pete Tong has been creeping in to the picture more and more today - I almost destroyed my laptop when I saw the ECM this morning especially after the best run I'd ever seen from it yesterday. Still, I'd bank those 3 days of snow that the GFS 6z is offering because I'm beginning to forget what snow looked like
  17. Excellent Steve, thanks. . . Well it's all turned to dog crap over night (only IMO), not that it was looking particularly great for my location anyway. GFS still keeps the carrot dangling at T+216, bringing in an almighty beast from Russia, but end of this week is now merely looking like a bit of cold rain or sleet followed by a bone dry weekend thanks to a useless NW'ly flow, then just more cold and dry weather next week. @Yamkin - where can I get one of your snow making machines from? I want the one with the 'instant blizzard' switch. Cheers
  18. It's been a carrot on string chasing the cold and snow in FI these last 2 weeks but it does look like we'll definitely see the chance of something exciting happening by the time we get to the weekend. I'm probably being spoilt but if the 'stonker' of a GFS 12z run comes off then unfortunately for most of us in this region we'll be stuck with a NW'ly flow from Friday afternoon onwards, so we can forget about any shower activity in the North Sea coming our way. With very long, dry land tracks we'll be clinging most of our snow hopes on waiting for troughs to come down in the flow. Don't wanna be greedy but if we get the cold nailed in for a while then I wanna see some big upgrades to the PPN for our region, cold and dry doesn't bring out the sledges and champagne like snow does. . . . err BTW if the GFS 12z verified the NE tip of Norfolk would get absolutely hammered edit: Friday defo looks good at the mo
  19. Yep more poop incoming. . . UKMO not as keen on next week now either so everyones banking on the ECM to be the 'get out of jail' model today.
  20. Yeah I hope so too but is anyone fed up of waking up to either a train wreck ECM or GFS? Each day recently we have had the UKMO stead-fast and generally bullish about an Easterly and a good cold spell for next week, but the ECM and GFS have never really trended in our favour consistently and it's been mostly one corker of a run followed by three piles of poop. The GFS 6z is an utter disaster this morning IMO, horrid. Got to have either the GFS or the ECM following the UKMO by the end of today. Come on beast, give us a big kiss
  21. Champagne sale back on then - and the free sledges aswell. This damn ECM will not come onboard, says no easterly next week now. Unfortunately it's been trending that way the last few runs aswell. GFS still looks good though but doesn't mean much when the UKMO and ECM stick there fingers up to the continent IMO.
  22. You can just feel that things are about to go pop again and this thread is going to spring into life any day soon. Lloyd, nothing to get excited about yet, we're just not going to have the temperature profiles for anything of note tomorrow (maybe high ground). . . ( ). . . we'll probably see some flakes at some point though I would think, but we need to wait until the weekend and onwards for any fun to start. If things keep trending the same way then then the beast shall return for next week - I for one hope it kicks our butts BTW thanks for all the PMs but I'm not selling my champagne anymore - unless Pete Tong comes back
  23. Yup, unbelievably the sickos up there are going to dump all the good stuff just to the West of London for the zillionth time, definitely need some new script writers. . . . . lets hope for some egg on faces and big upgrades nearer the time
