  1. What’s not to like after the mild, damp dross we have endured for most of the last 5 weeks. A cool settled spell with bright wintry sunshine is next best to snow IMO. Enjoy days like today, the Atlantic will be back soon enough.
  2. Yes this Xmas-New Year period has been the least seasonal I can remember, pity the kids who got sledges from Santa and are desperate to try them out especially Midlands southwards.
  3. Morning all. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. Thanks also to the regular contributors who make this thread enjoyable through the year. The weather may not be as seasonal as we were hoping only a week or so ago…but it is only weather and will not spoil the joy and excitement of Santa’s big day, have fun all southwesterners, see you in 2022.
  4. Ok looking good but METO extended not on board yet, wait their next update before getting carried away. Happier when METO and ECM are aligned, another day or so maybe.
  5. The extended METO update for the run up to the Christmas period is very uninspiring, average temps possibly drier and brighter on the day, nothing cold mentioned. Maybe their forecast doesn’t go into ‘cold possibilities’ that far out.
  6. Thanks to Roger and J10, very happy to have won the seasonal EWP and 4th combined overall. Pure guesswork of course but good fun, cheers.
  7. Hi 4.8C and 81.6mm for me please….oh and let’s make it a very happy Christmas this December
  8. Welcome back Sidney, I am sure it times to come he will join the likes of seaweed in weather folklore.
  9. Brighter for you DB in Trowbridge the flat skies are a dark grey, looking very damp and yuk, detest this weather….bring on clear cold days.
  10. Cheer up Becky, you’re the Ray of sunshine normally on this forum….soon be Christmas to look forward to.
  11. Sorry to hear that Fred, puts a lot of life’s ‘challenges’ into perspective.
  12. Looking good in Scandi after some melt in the next few days, northern areas look solid now. Fred are you attempting a LRF this year? Hope you are well.
  13. Late cold didn’t help but the pear and apples have been ok, cherries though were non existent. A real abundance of red berries on the hedgerows this year…not suggesting that implies anything for the winter though.
  14. Thickest mist/fog in Trowbridge I can remember for a long while. Now beginning to thin and promises to be a Lovely autumn day. Hoping for at least a couple of weeks of real winter this year, signs are hopeful.
  15. Clear blue sky, bright autumn sunshine, hardly any breeze, beautiful start to the day….enjoy.
  16. Very pleasant, yet to see anything other than grey murk here in TROWBRIDGE!
  17. Cloudy all day, felt relatively cool at 18.3C, makes you realise how much warmth is still in the sun at this time of year when it appears. Hoping tomorrow is sunny and warm, but at least it’s dry.
