  1. Good morning everyone and a very wet one at that, watching BBC breakfast this morning and very disappointing, the weathergirl on southeast showed that we will be getting 7 / 8 / 9c through next week (this weekend is the coldest it will be at 3c) before climbing, and yet on the mad thread they are saying that the cold weather will still be with us, Im hoping the southeast weather is wrong and does a u turn....I WANT SNOW !!!
  2. that "choppy thing" is actually the snowblower that was driven down from inverness, I know , I was there...
  3. I was one of those people digging out that snow plough as I worked on the railway and was stationed at Maidstone west at that time. It was incredible to see but not quite so jolly having to be out in it for twelve hours wet through and cold. I do have my own cine film of the event in the loft somewhere. Lenham is at a very high point and always got the winter weather before anywhere else but that was exceptional and never really been seen since to such magnitude but I am still a coldie and always will be .
  4. I do agree but I am also under no illusions how difficult it is to get the right conditions for snow in east kent next to the sea, perhaps we will be lucky this winter
  5. looks like Kent misses out again, ah well getting used to it now but good luck to others
  6. its just a pity it doesnt scatter it our way, anyway good luck to all of you that experience a flake or two or even a covering
  7. amazing....reports of snow one side of us at herne bay and the other side of us at Deal but nothing here in the middle
  8. nothing happening here in ramsgate, am I surprised .....no , hopefully something in the future
  9. I personally would rather have a white snow warning....we all know what yellow snow contains (sorry for taking the pee out of your post)
  10. why is it that this shows us in the southeast going very cold next week but our local southeast weather forecast at 1340hrs today said that next week would get milder 6-7c !! am i reading this correctly ?
  11. BBC Breakfast said this morning that the temperature was rising for the weekend to +6c and slightly milder ....OH NO !!!!! hope this is temporary until the ssw kicks in
  12. met office predictions for ramsgate for this week have us with heavy rain for monday/ rain for tuesday and then becoming a little brighter with temps at the end of the week at 6c not good and hope things change, we are in a snow famine along with most of the south east/east kent
  13. that would probably explain why nothing is being produced from the blob that was over ramsgate a little while ago
  14. Hi All I can report that the blob from the radar is over us and there is no snow/sleet or rain from it at this time
  15. I foolishly ventured into the mod thread and now I am totally confused.....I think over the next week or was it two weeks it will snow but may be rain and the cold will still be with us but it may be mild, I think between them on that thread they have all eventualities covered so somebody must be correct !!!
  16. many thanks for your replies, lets hope they are wrong and everybody sees some snow especially after the year we have all gone through. happy new year to you all
  17. Hi all just seen the quote below from" froze were the days" "Just seen the Look East temperature projection for next Tuesday/Wednesday and 6c with north easterly winds!!! Sara Thornton said 'we lose the real cold air' (of tomorrow) - so if this is the case those SST's will be superfluous - really that high? Personally feel it will be a colder than that, we didn't reach 4c on Xmas day with near -5c 850 uppers" I know the forecast was for the east of our area but the south east is the same and yet they are all saying on the mod thread the charts for next week will see very cold weather approach us with snow in certain lucky areas and even some experts in their tweets are saying the same, or am I reading this all wrong and the bbc will be correct. I am totally confused.
  18. Hi all looks as though we may miss out on Mondays snowfall excitement as I see that the Met Office have issued warnings for snow and ice around the Wales and Liverpool area (basically the north west coastal area)
  19. a bit of a sweeping statement, not all of us "got belted"
  20. well that seem to play it safe, a bit of everything thrown
  21. it has been raining all day in thanet and temp as been hovering around 3c
  22. I suppose trying to get a positive from the no snow club is that I dont go through the trauma of slowly watching it thaw (drip by drip by drip ) it would still have been nice to have seen some snow though
  23. same here as well although I expected it, it is Thanet after all. Even if the polar vortex positioned itself directly over us I still think we would end up with rain
