  1. Yet, the bbc forecasts shows 1c maximum for today. They are so wrong with the temperatures, it's not even laughable!
  2. Yes, I agree! The temperatures have been the biggest disappointment for me during this cold spell.
  3. When I went to bed there was light snizzle here with 1.5c Thankfully, the temperature dropped close to 0c overnight and I managed to get a cm on my balcony and the car park across the road is also white. None on the roads though. Still, it is better than I was expecting. Very light snow falling now, not making any difference to what is already on the ground. Karyo
  4. This is beyond pathetic! The temperature went up to 1.3c!
  5. I can see flakes in there with the snizle but small ones. Temperature stuck on 1.2c
  6. Still fine but also much thicker now, reducing visibility. Temperature down to 1.6c
  7. It starts to give a dusting on surfaces here. Temperature is thankfully dropping a bit, currently 1.8c
  8. Oh dear, that shows sleet/rain in Lincolnshire and Humberside. Shows how marginal things are in places
  9. The batch coming from Sheffield and Lincolnshire looks good. I think it will cross the hills with relative ease.
  10. The precipitation has made a lot of progress since I last checked but the temperature is a concern! I have 2c here...
  11. Yes, which leads to a huge snow event over the UK on the GFS. The UKMO on the other hand has southwesterlies by that stage. Karyo
  12. The 12z gfs downgrades the precipitation tonight to mainly light and then brings a moderate fall around 9am tomorrow! lol It looks good for the far north of the region and still good for the Pennines.
  13. Breaking news! The temperature has started dropping, currently 2.5c
  14. A friend of mine from Belgium just posted pics on facebook - loads of snow there!
  15. It's amazing how the precipitation has exploded over north wales and the irish sea! We could have done with this hallening in Lincolnshire and head towards us but it is bone dry there.
  16. Gone up to 2.6c now! It seems we are cursed here in terms of snow. Last Monday, the westerly flow took us in the wrong side of marginal and snow turned to rain and now it is the easterly flow that is bringing the temperature rise!
  17. The temperature here increased by nearly half a degree in the last hour. Now at 2.5c and rising...
  18. Well, the band will come over us but there is no guarantee on intensity. Let's keep an eye on the radar
  19. I know what you mean guys, we have to make the most of the flakes falling and hopefully a light covering by morning, if we are lucky. Personally, I enjoy cold weather with or without snow and I find the charts showing southwesterlies and rain hard to swallow.
  20. That's very helpful as it clearly shows the warmer uppers to be ahead of the precipitation, coupled with the wind coming off the north sea. As soon as this band moves over us this evening, it should cut off the flow and upper and surface temperatures should fall somewhat. Karyo
  21. Yes, unfortunately all the models agree now for the end of this cold spell by the end of the week. Today's snowfall may well be the last one of this spell so lets make the most of it. Having said that the Met office further outlook in mentioning the possibility of another cold spell towards the middle of Feb.
