  1. That's probably because the heaviest precipitation is expected after midday. This chart is for midday Friday. Karyo
  2. I love it! I just hope the systems slows dowm on the western half of the country so that we get as much snow as possible! The excellent thing is that no thaw is expected over the weekend! Karyo
  3. This looks dreamy to me! My location is under orange warning for once!
  4. The colder uppers have already reached the far north of the region. The group of showers that is affecting you will move southeastwards to cross the region in the next couple of hours. After that only the coastal areas will have showers as the wind turns northerly. Karyo
  5. If I move, I'll go to another country where they get frequent long lasting cold spells. Anyway, you should get some showers soon. Let us know if they have a wintry mix when they come. Karyo
  6. Places that have a snow cover now should keep it for the rest of the week. Colder uppers are moving in from the north and then we have a clear frosty night to look forward to. There will be showers as well this pm and they should fall as snow on the hills at least. Karyo
  7. Just woke up and checked the models! Lovely to see the ECM has backed down and goes with the UKMO which is sticking to the same wintry scenario from previous days. The trend is for the cold spell to be extended with chances for snow every time the Atlantic tries to move in. Karyo
  8. That's my impression too! There is too much energy coming out of Canada and heading for Greenland and north Atlantic in general. The Scandinavian high has nowhere to go and it will start to sink southeastwards in a few days.
  9. Snowing nicely here now and we probably have an hour of it left here judging by the radar. However, it is not sticking anywhere.
  10. Truth hurts! lol You can already see the showers getting organised in Northern Ireland. The developing northwesterly flow will blow them here but they will be mainly of rain...
  11. Yes, the showers tomorrow (late pm/evening) may well be wintry at times as colder uppers start to move in.
  12. The band of precipitation has intensified along the coast. As this moves further south and east it should give a period of snow to most areas of our region. Whether it will settle is another story and either way it will be gone tomorrow. Karyo
  13. With a breeze from the Irish sea -5 uppers are not cold enough unless you have elevation.
  14. It didn't look promising at all for tomorrow! 4c with some rain showers. Even if some areas manage a covering of snow this evening, it will easily melt away tomorrow. Karyo
  15. Monday's chances are downgraded with every run!
  16. It is ironic that the east will not only do well from the frontal system on Monday but also have the snow showers to look forward too afterwards as the east/northeasterly brreze develops. Anyway, as I said earlier I am looking forward to a cold week for a change! Karyo
  17. The minimum for Manchester tonight according to the bbc forecast is -1c but if the skies stay clear like they are now, I think it will be more like -2c or -3c. I am almost certain that much of the region will see snow turning to rain on Monday but I just hope that the precipitation moves out of the region as soon as this happens and the ground is cold enough to retain the snow cover. After that, the rest of the week is looking very cold so any snow cover will last. Karyo
  18. The northwest never exists in the Model Discussion thread, that's why I don't go there anymore! Anyway, we need to see the current cloud cover go away to allow the temperatures to plumet. Karyo
  19. That's for the further outlook but it won't have an effect on tomorrow and Monday. We do need a long cold spell though rather than a brief one.
  20. It is best to have low expectations to avoid disappointment! There is nothing worse than expecting snow and ending up with rain! Karyo
