Just goes to show what can happen. This system coming up from France is a big bonus and proves what the likes of Steve has said for years - get the cold in place and the snow will come. There will always be surprises at very short notice. Looks like a good few hours of radar watching coming up. P.S. If anyone is a fan of Fringe on Sky 1, last ever episodes are being screened in just over an hour. Same time as in the USA, much like they did for Lost.- 1,325 replies

Very weird re all you guys Bas Vegas way. I live in the triangle between A127, A12 and M25 and although not stunning amounts of snow here, I would say it's about 3 - 4cm.- 777 replies

Absolutely painful this. Have a very horrible feeling this is going the way of the pear. Steve M if you're out there what are your thoughts? -

Stopped completely here in Romford. Looking at radar it looks like the front hits the eastern extent of M25 and disintegrates. Hopefully the heavier stuff to come after midday? -

Yeah but would be funny wouldn't it. I can see him now putting his surname in to register on here and have the web page returning "If this doesn't say c0ckroft when referring to a bbc weather presenter, then I have maturity issues".- 877 replies

Good news day this. On a serious note, is (if this doesn't say cockroft when referring to a bbc forecaster, I have maturity issues) Cockroft on twitter? Surely if someone tweeted him to ask him to join Netweather he would oblige? -

1 hour to go until the perhaps pivotal 12z's. Let's hope for the eastward correction. P. S. I have to say that looking at some of you fine ladies avatars that even though we may not be the snowiest region so far, we are definitely the best looking! Will not name names for fear of turning this into a dating site but suffice to say any pillow talk that ensued would be purely weather based. -

Westward movement for me please Paul. Just in case we do get a dumping, I want the dog fed, the yard watered and get a note to the milkman "no more cheese". (what film is that from, just for fun). -

I mentioned if a westward correction is possible after the 6z this morning and looks at the moment that is the case. I think that if the 0z's correct this further west again then Nick S will be supplying cart loads of Prozac for the SE. We missed out mainly on Monday and were told to be patient. Again should Friday's event miss us then some are saying don't worry there is always Monday. I can handle being patient as long as there is a pay off. There is nothing to say that the pay off will definitely come however and this cold spell will eventually come to an end, perhaps for some in our region seeing zero white stuff - personally i feel it's great to have a bit more seasonal cold weather right now but weeks on end of cold without snow doesn't interest me. I think model watching should come with a health warning as it really does mess with your emotions no matter how much you tell yourself to not let it get to you! You almost wish the days away when snowmaggedon is at T144 waiting for T0 to appear, only to learn the possible event has been moved to T96! As an atheist, to pray for snow would make me a bit of a hypocrite but even I may say a few quiet words tonight to the snow gods and will that eastward correction for Friday to happen. Surely we can't miss out again? Here's hoping we all get some of the white stuff and that a Feb 1991 is just around the corner, preferably soon. P.S. Cockroft almost gives the impression sometimes that he doesn't want to forecast snow.
