  1. I need it to be dry Saturday and Sunday ideally due to a golf competition and then a street party. Hopefully Herts and East London will be cool but no rain. PLEASE GOD!
  2. Very sensible and accurate post this one. Things are rarely as bad as they are predicted and modelled from my limited experience.
  3. You couldn't write this could you! Jesus don't you just know it's gonna be wet.
  4. Model output seems to be getting worse for the bank holiday then warming afterwards. You couldn't make this up! Is asking for 100 mile shift east too much to ask at this juncture?
  5. I'm sure GP was quietly confident the weekend would be reasonable from memory? He's usually not far from the mark. Apparently the weather was poor for the coronation itself so ironic really! Still, it is the 06z but will start worrying if the next few runs promote the same prospects.
  6. Backtrack i would bank that right now thank you very much!
  7. Wow. Almost seems to be doom and gloom everywhere i look re next weekend. I can handle it being cooler but please don't rain! Anyone brave enough to give a 4 day forecast for the queen's jubilee?
  8. With a general warm up and overall improvement forecast for at least the next few days, i wonder if someone would be prepared to do a countrywide forecast every day or so for the queen's bank holiday weekend? I'm sure we all have something going on that weekend and I'm sure most will agree that netweather is much more reliable for model reading than any other site! Just a suggestion.
  9. Fence sitting then! But actually so true. Going on what JH has been hinting at for a few days i am hoping we at least get a spell of settled weather late May and into early June.
  10. Thought it may be good to start a thread where people can detail the model output leading up to the 4 day bank Holiday weekend at the start of June. Mods, apologies if this is in the wrong place.
  11. Snowing in Romford. Any idea how long this will last?
  12. I'm in Romford and nothing here. Is it following the rough course of the A12? Apologies, on phone so can't see raintoday website.
  13. Yeah but remember what happened in February 1991?! Sorry mods, I'll get my coat.
  14. To be honest i think our expectations have been raised by previous good June's. Last august was a washout along with 2009 and i can touch for this after 2 consecutive very soggy camping trips. Anyway. Could i ask for someones opinion for next weekend 18th/19th. I have a golf weekend in Cambridge and to my untrained eye atm I'm expecting it to be showers but not a washout. Would this be an accurate assessment as far as we can tell at this stage?
  15. Totally agree Nick. Bring back the good old 80's etc with Bill Giles, John Kettley, Ian McKaskill, Michael Fish etc. They WERE REAL weather men.
  16. Think a reality check is needed by some here! I'd much rather prefer the weather we are getting now than the mild mush of previous winters. Enjoy this proper spell of cold while we can - plus it's only January 10th!
  17. As many have said this morning, i too am very dissapointed at the performance of the met office, BBC and more so Sky News weather. For 3-4 days Sky had snow all day today, Monday and showing showers on Wednesday - they were even ramping it up!! As there is such a downgrade AND for them to not even turn round and say "we got it wrong" seems a bit off. Before i get jumped on for slagging them off, what i will say is that if i do things wrong in my job, i get my knuckles wrapped. I know its not an exact science but i still find it hard to fathom with the super computers they have got and more importantly that human touch JH and NS have highlighted previously, that they still got it so badly wrong. I am a huge snow fan and theres nothing i want more than 24 hour heavy snow falls, blizzards and drifting but i for one would not mind a bit of a let up in this cold and snowy outlook, even if just to get back to be able to play football! Here's hoping for developments down the line. Were only in January and there is still debate as to whether February will produce cold or mild. Anyone whos interested then read GP's fascinating posts in the in depth model output discussion thread. Anyhow, here's hoping for another snowfall soon, whether it be tonight, tomorrow or next week and if not lets have a few days break before a reload to let the country recover. I hope that the met office etc perform better than they have of late and everyone gets what you want.
  18. Sky news weather via red button really ramping the next few days snow events up. The cute irish bird had a huge smile on her face when she said some areas could get over 40cm of snow. Yey!
  19. I recon it's due to all the Burberry gear that's worn by the chavs in Lakeside that's deflecting your snow! Note to self: empty wardrobe of Burberry gear...
  20. Cheers Steve. I am so surprised Kold has been so unlucky. You are no more than 7 miles away from me and it's snowed all day and now settling on roads.
  21. Steve M, what do you recon for the chances of heavy snow this Sunday? Just seen Sky News ramping it up on their weather.
  22. Kold I'm coming down to Lakeside later, i'll drop you off a bucket or 2 of snow. Snowing heavily here just east of Romford. :smiliz19:
