  1. Has to be the worst possible place for snow here. too far from west, too far from east and too far from the north and too close to the sea.
  2. Hi Karlos is that front ever going to arrive lol. Took your advice and treated my son and his girlfriend to Sunday lunch at the Bakers arms a table for 4 right by the log fire. It was brilliant and the food was excellent. One thing I did find amusing is when I went into the garden for a ciggie they still had a notice up saying not to remove your top as other diners may find it offensive. My teeth were chattering at the time.
  3. Just been reading about Yakutz in Russia where the temperature at 6am will be minus 45. They say that a quick dash to the local store will possibly result in frost bite and you are told not to wear glasses because the metal sticks to your cheeks and you pull off strips of flesh when you remove them. Would that cold enough for some lol.
  4. Well I poked my nose into the MAD thread to see if there was any chance of snow and read that the trough disruption over the Azores could affect the upper strat profile as long as the Greenland vortex remains and with La Nina now in decline a lag effect of high amplitude phase MJO with wriggle room for 8 injection of AAM and with low solar activity which could seriously affect Eurasia rather than Conus. Ive never been more insulted in all my life. Shant go in there again. Any chance of snow anyone?
  5. According to some in the MAD thread the cold is coming. Albeit the charts posted are anything from 10 to 16 days time but its coming.
  6. Hopefully we may see something down here but cold for colds sake doesn't do it for me. Id rather save on my heating bills.
  7. Maybe another phantom easterly with pressure rising over Scandinavia/Russia may occur in FI.
  8. The pub run will be on the scrumpy tonight. That will add to the confusion.
  9. The trouble with chasing snow and the many times the charts do not verify just adds to the disappointment. However such as occasions like this when you can see at long last the probability of verification it still seems an eternity waiting for the holy grail and your frustration is increased to a maximum if even then its nothing like youd hoped for. Whats wrong with me lol I must have masochistic tendencies. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
  10. Ive got a 14lb one in the garage. Will I need it to break the ice on my fish pond?
  11. Already begun in the MAD thread. Fronts are not gonna get this far east. Yes they will. No they wont. Looks to dry to me No it isn't yes it is.
  12. The first fall of snow is not only an event but a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another quite different and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found. JB Priestley. Nothing wrong with dreaming.
  13. So here we go again.cold from the north cold from the east and west but will it be cold enough from the south to the M4?
  14. Think I will try that Karlos haven't been there for a few years. Is it a carvery.
  15. High pressure from the south hopefully for next weekend. Might get some early gardening done roll on the spring given up on this winter already as usual .
  16. It means its running flat out to get as far south as it can and away from the north and midlands.
  17. I know lol talk about an insult. Its like sending an arsonist to put out the fire.
  18. The outlook for coldies look great in 7 days time and then tomorrow the outlook looks great in 7 days endlessly recurring. The mad thread is always groundhog day.
  19. I resign myself every winter to not seeing snow perhaps if I make a new years resolution to that it will surely be broken. Happy new year to all.
  20. Same here. Even if there were a few the local rain blobs would have leapt on em kicked the crap out of em as if to say "Bugger off back north your not settling in our manor"
  21. It really is ridiculous. on the mad thread they are enthusing yet again about charts 10 days p[us ahead and we don't know whats gonna happen in 12 hours time.
  22. I always say measure it in millimetres. Doesn't make it any bigger but it sounds a lot more. Lol.
  23. I think we have to be realistic here it doesn't matter one jot where the sliders end up and all that ppn coming up from the south west on Sunday the fact remains the temperatures here are projected to be 10 degrees and only 2 further north (midlands) The brief period of possible snow on Monday looks unlikely for the far south again I don't believe our temperatures will be conducive for snow. Howling winds and rain seems probable.
