What I am seeing on the radar is that what we are getting at the moment is a finger of snow ahead of the main band. The heavier stuff hasn't made landfall just yet and is also heading for you.

Yeah I just walked about a mile to our local store and back. Its whats called a lazy wind,rather than go around you it goes right through you.

Having been in the building trade all my life a word of warning. If you have a wobbly shed lol don't let the snow build up to too high on its roof sweep it off because snow in depth can be very heavy. After saying that please don't use a ladder on any elevation its too dangerous. I was lucky enough to have lived through the 62-63 blizzards and I have seen dozens of trees brought down by the sheer weight of snow on their branches so if in doubt don't park your car under one. Better to be safe than sorry. I know this only applies in extreme situations but all you peeps to the west of me may experience just that. Stay safe and enjoy.

I am feeling apprehensive with the ever changing forecasts and charts. More hopeful for something on Friday for my area rather than tomorrow. Its a mess at the moment and will come down to now casting. I am resigned to seeing what falls out of the sky lol. Hope the ECM can cheer me up with a more East correction.

All; this waiting for snow is not good for my blood pressure. To quote someone on the weather so far in my location the beast from the East has produced the least from the East. Am I going to get some of that Eastern promise lol.

If the streamers in the channel maintain their propensity then I would say tomorrow we could do well as the present wind direction is NE. However tomorrow the winds are expected to be from ESE to SE. In general I would love to see a further SE track for Thursdays low to keep us here in with a better shout although the BBC are going for snow from SW at present to affect our region with no marginality on the coast here. Thatll do me for now.

I agree NK because its an unusual situation the models don't seem to know what to do with that low. Everything is changing every 6 hours and its going to take another day or two. I having lost hope.

As an old timer I am getting more confused than the models. All I know is that it changes every 6 hours.

How I hate those 5 words in the forecast, "away from the south coast." and what is classified as the south coast anyway. its never said away from the SW or SE coast so living here in Poole I take it personally lol.

People posting charts on the MAD thread showing snow for the 13th March when nobody really knows whats going to happen in 5 days. Utter lunacy.
