  1. I have been keeping an eye on this too. Not a great deal of movement been happening but it has been a slow steady progress in this direction. That's about the extent of my knowledge to be honest. Just hoping it keeps on track but am sure I will be corrected by someone more in the know?
  2. Sitting in garden in Stevenage.. Sky is totally grey now. Still very humid but occasional slight cooling breeze which is lovely. Just starting to spit with rain now as I type.
  3. Ah so you are about 10 mins from me then. Heres hoping for more this afternoon
  4. still very very light in this part of Stevenage. Where abouts are you? Sure I have asked before but forget. I am in simmons green. Trying to settle on top of hedges but thats about it. Everywhere else is soaked.
  5. Yes shame it rained so much before. The ground is soaked but coming down lovely now. Big, fat juicy lovely looking flakes
  6. coming down nicely again in Stevenage. Was just light and showery but now heavier with even heavier bursts. Thats what I like to see
  7. think I am imagining stuff here but keep hearing what sounds like thunder every now and then. Every time though I get to window to open it is quiet again. Going to go out for ciggy and investigate
  8. Ours are out now. Normally am quite lucky as have one in front and one to left as I look out. At least now it means I cannot be tempted at any point to pull an all nighter lamp post watching lol
  9. Me too.. Was leaning out of my window and saw a few 'flakes' before I realised it was ash blowing about. Well it gave a similar effect and all I am likely to see tonight as lamp posts will go out here in 5 minutes. Seems to be bone dry out there at moment, and lacking in accurate temperature but seems warmer than it did earlier. Just watched news 24. He made me laugh when he totally killed any hope for this area as he pointed around in general to the east anglia area and said something like really 'you could count the snowflakes as they fall' with a grin on his face as if laughing at us all haha
  10. Hi all Did I miss something here? When I last looked/heard the chances of snow weren't meant to be until the early hours yet lots of people are now throwing in the towel and saying its a non event. Now I am confused. Maybe I should spend some time and read back through the last few pages to see whats happening
  11. yep had a light shower that I saw about an hour ago, and it gave an icing sugar dusting on paths. Stopped briefly before the next heavier, fluffier, bigger flakes burst. Still trying very lightly here now. What a lovely start to my Saturday
  12. Well I don't know if we got any here or not. Lamps go out here too at midnight. I did here some icy rain on windows for a while and strong gusts of wind.. Woke to it looking pretty soggy out there and and part of the front fence down
  13. http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en literally exploding all around. Watching strikes appear from nothing. Woke up here this morning like yesterday. 3rd decent storm in 24 hours now. According to this it literally hit Stevenage, exploded all over and around us then died off. Couldn't see us on the map as we were obliterated. Ok think I just put a dampener on it all. Seems to be calming down more now lol
  14. Seems we are missing out here in Stevenage. Quite a few very distant low rumbles, which have now fizzled out and a few spits and spots of rain. But on the plus side Ware got a lovely storm, which is great news and the step daughter who went back home to Ware at 4pm was desperate for a storm. Nothing much happened here since the cracker Thurs night, but we were both hoping yesterday for some action.. Ah well, glad she got a good show in the end.
  15. Still hearing the odd low rumble in the distance here too but not as much as it was. Not quite reaching up this far and on my radar it looks like they are starting to now die down?
  16. been keeping an eye on lightning radar and also the sky and its definitely got a stormy feel and it's quite close to us on radar.. Actually now i am typing I am hearing the odd little distant rumble
  17. Had high hopes here about half hour ago as the sun was starting to break through and could feel it getting warmer but now its back cloudy again and seems to be getting thicker not clearing
  18. my son and his mates have travelled to a festival in your area .. I know they have sorted camping at a local campsite for next few nights. Looks they may be getting a bit soggy and catching the odd flash or 2
  19. had some very heavy rain here for while and a few flashes to the NW and SE.. Sure I have been hearing some rumbles too in the distance but other half has tv booming and sub on watching an action movie so bit hard to tell where the rumbling is coming from.. Sure we will get something before the nights out but even if we don't last nights unexpected show was fantastic.. Seeing some great pics and videos from my mates and family in Southend where I am originally from as it comes in to them.. Spent many a night down East Beach in Shoebury or on Southend seafront watching the storms come in off the water when he was younger. Miss it now!
  20. well that was it and I happened to get perfect glimpse of it as I turned round split second before the lightning Someone asked what direction and if its any help I am in the front of the house looking N/Nw way. Just rain on and off since but although slightly fresher there is still a warm and humid feel
  21. well we had a nice sunny morning up until about 7.00 when it started to cloud over and some drizzle. Had some torrential rain here at times, but no other activity. I have been nowcasting with the clouds hoping for them to clear now, to allow heating. About 15 mins ago, I thought we were on a winner as big patches of blue sky appeared and the sun was trying very hard, but looked out again 15 mins later and back to miserable grey again. Need to go into town so am hoping it brightens up while we are out to get some potential for some home growns round here. Not fancying a soggy walk round unless accompanied by a storm.
  22. http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en Definitely an impressive show on this site. The storm out to our West seems to be shifting E/NE very rapidly and building up, and then showing 1 to our S and 1 to our E. Why have I not found this site before? Edit: It just gets better, In the last 5-10 mins more storms are randomly cropping up or at least the lightning. Just need to read the storm forum to clarify places. However accurate it is it still looks impressive and showing good potential
  23. I suffer tinnitus badly since chemo a few years ago and tonight it is really bad! Very high pitch, loud and constant. I am wondering if the pressure outside is having an affect on it :/ Bit gusty here at times but nothing too bad
