can confirm lightning in stevenage just now.. Thought i caught a glimpse of one through curtain but then went to look and had a smoke. Saw nothing. The second i sit back down and look up the sky lit up to my NW -

you heard the rumble too? I heard the rain very very briefly and got up to go to the window but then it had stopped.. So close. Even just some decent rain will do and I can stand outside and cool down

Oh dear I think I am imagining things now. Long low rumbling sounds just now, but it must of been a plane. Although planes here fly past us and do not normally rumble in the distance. TV on mute now and window wide open.. Nope still convinced my mind was playing tricks lol Very muggy feeling and oppressive here so wishing for something in the early hours here to help freshen it a bit. No hope of sleeping until something breaks and I could be in for a long night at this rate. Hope all my cousins and aunt in Notts are enjoying theirs

was watching that storm last night on the hamburg live Cam and it was pretty impressive! lightning made me jump a few times and that was watching it on a small net book screen. Closer to home and back to today though the rain as arrived in stevenage and it's a lot fresher. Chances of a storm here, who knows but I am not getting my hopes up. Even a slight rumble will be a bonus then.

I dont think anything we do manage to get here will beat the cam show in hamburg.. Going to turn my lights out for a better effect lol

settling nicely here now.. Paths and grass gone white, but can't see road as its out the back of the house and I am not going out in it now.. alll snuggled in the warmth in pj's -
not here its not.. a icing sugar dusting at best on some surfaces.. We are in symmonds green where are you?

starting to settle on roofs, grass etc here and in some places on edges of paths. Temps at nearby stations showing 0.4 and 0.2, with the snow smaller but still moderately falling

2 local stevenage weather stations reporting 0.5 and 0.7 and dewpoint -2 Make that 0.5 and 0.3

what do people recommend as the best site for temps/dew points? Looked at a few and they all vary alot. I know.. its about time I invested in a home station lol

had some rain here but no longer looking out properly. Temps rose to 2 but seem to have dropped back to 1 according to the site I am checking.. Surely this is a good sign?

Well have been keeping an eye on radar and looks like all the snow is further north and we have gone from being under pink, to green to blue.. And also been lamposting and unless I missed it nothing at all has fallen here so far :/

Thanks well we currently have both green and purple heading this way on radar but currently under pink. So anybodies guess tonight then lol

lol thanks guys.. well judging by some of the pics I have seen when I googled freezing rain I would love to see it. I gather its not that common and I dont remember ever seeing it. Oh well snow or freezing rain just throw it at me.. Just no sleet or rain just yet please!

hovering here somewhere between 0 and -1 as far as I can tell. All I have is my phone app and a site I use. Really hoping I can stay awake long enough to see this happen tonight, but am so tired!
