  1. oh dear that guy got slammed for trolling when he was just giving a weather report considering others in Kent are also reporting something falling other than snow.. Had a few light flakes floating about in the wind here but not over this way yet. Only up this early as woke up feeling really rough and can't get back to sleep. That's all I need with all this lot coming in to enjoy today. Will either be still feeling too rough to enjoy it or asleep after only getting about 2.5 hours.. Looks like it is bang on target for us all though, so just hope it holds out and delivers snow. Remember guys in kent is was said that the coasts could get some sleet falling. Hope we all get a good dumping though before the days out.
  2. Hi. I know we are poss due one coming up from France but not been on to know the rest.. What are the other two?

  5. woah!! That is looking good. Almost would todays few inches look like just a starter! Here's hoping
  6. They said on the radio on my journey home about an hour ago that the met office say its going to get worse tonight. Looking at the radars its breaking up though. Any ideas anyone?
  7. well here goes. Heading into work in a short while, and not worried about getting in but am worried about getting home tonight and I bet we are not allowed out early. Relying on minibuses to get in to pick up the children as usual, and our class is unfortunately on late duty so until all the kiddie are picked up we are stuck there. Then the fun journey home from Radlett on m25 then a1m up to stevenage. I never worry too much but today I have a feeling its going to be bad. Then I get the car home in time for my man to go out in his lorry all night :/ Good luck all and stay safe!!
  8. Great summary and many thanks :0 Actually now its showing blob not quite reached us yet :/ It was then wasn't then was then wasn't. I gather the radars are struggling?
  9. ok am confused. Just come on here expecting to hear about tomorrows snow and am under a huge pink blob. Is this what was forecast for tomorrow??? No snow here just yet, or at least not when I came in but surely that pink blob is delivering? Funny though as nw and meto 5 days are showing no snow tonight just tomorrow. Sorry for being thick over it, but totally confused now. Can someone please give me a brief update?? Thanks in advance
  10. my metoffice update at 7pm is even better than the 6pm prolonging the snow even more
  11. Loving my met office update from 6pm tonight showing light snow here from about midday friday right through until 3am sunday at the moment and absolutely no signs of it getting any warmer or showing any rain at all. Sun it shows it hovering between -1 and -3 all day and only precip is shown as snow. Please people don't panic or start the 'it's all over' posts on one BBC forecast which as many have said are using out of date charts. This 'could' like always change again between now and then as we are still over a day away, but keep the faith, keep smiling and I am pretty sure we will all get something out of Fri/Sat/Sun. Major upgrades as far as I can see and nothing to get downhearted about.

  13. can't believe the weather diffs out there. Left Stevenage this morning after another snow shower and everything was sparkly white. Get near Hatfield and rest of way to work and hardly anything. Same coming home as nothing has melted here and a chilly -4 driving home
  14. The one I have just watched she was showing snow across all but the far SW. Ok it was heavier in a place down to about Birmingham but she was quick to point out the timing and placing of the heaviest part was very likely to change. She also mentioned the word 'blizzard' several times and also the risk of getting stuck if out in it. And no mention of any rain after and that it will lie, compact and stay. I am actually hoping for once we don't get stuck in that main heavy band as will be chaos. Think the rest will be chaos enough as it is. Still another 48 hours and plenty of time for change though
  15. lol looks like someone opened a bag of icing sugar and it exploded all over the screen!
  16. not sure how accurate it is but nw radar has been showing a chunk of pink precip over Royston and buntingford areas too. Are these for real, rogue showers cropped up or anaprop or something I wonder?
  17. is it just me or is the NW radar off again tonight? Reports of snow in milton keynes yet all under green/sleet on it.. PLus we are well under a green/sleet patch and nothing at all here :/
  18. Hi yes was a pretty good day all in all. I am no expert at all, but that wraparound is looking 'fairly' likely to hit us I would say, and hopefully those temps and dew points should drop so more potential for us. Prob around midnight onwards. I know the met office have us just about under the amber warning. Keeping a close eye on this low now so another few hours of radar watching. Whatever we get I have a feeling it could be a slippery journey out of stevenage in the morning. At least once I hit the a1m its well gritted. Slight thaw going on here at the moment so hope those temps/dp's drop soon.
  19. well been a great one here. Woke up at 4am to see a covering and scraped off a couple of inches of snow off car first thing. At work in Radlett it was light and stop/start until about 11am when it really kicked in and was very heavy at times and pretty much non stop until about 3.00. Was settling well on the playground after the kids at the school had been out in it playing. Am a happy bunny now and will be happy with whatever we get now.

  21. A nice covering here in Stevenage. Knew it was going to be there after some peeking out the curtains a few hours ago when I woke briefly lol. Still a lovely surprise though. Help though please as I need an expert on this. Forecasts and people are saying about the next band yet it is showing about 90% rain on the NW radar. Is that likely to change as it meets colder air?
