The grass is still nicely green here in Dorset! I dont think a single flake has fallen in the last 12 hours!. I think its fair to say most forecasts got it badly wrong for Dorset!. All the hype again!. Looks like the precip all around us now though on the radar is heading for us!.
Sorry for all the moaning but being the only county in the country to not see snow yet in the last few weeks, you must be able to understand our frustration!!!!!?

BBC Forecaster pretty much confirmed no snow for dorset tonight as the low wraps its self round dorset to the east, north and west!!!

Judging by the BBC ONE News i think Dorset must be the only place in nearly the whole world to not have any snow! and judging by the above charts that others have posted, we aren't going to get any tonight either! it goes around Dorset to the East, North and West!. Ah well, glad i went skiing a couple of years ago in the alps and got to see some proper snow! over 1 Meter!

I can't see Dorset getting any snow tonight! - it's rotating all around us teasing us! - I think its going to be a non-event again for us - More over hype again!

HAHA what a joke! Red weather warning removed for Dorset now!! - We have had rain today and like usual in cold spells it will most probably stay as rain all through the night! - I guess we have still got February left but looking at our track record this winter no doubt it will just rain all winter - Bring on Summer!
Thats my moan over withThe south East looks like they're in luck again!! - Think i may have to go and move to the SE!

Where is this "30cm of snow" ment to come from in Dorset because the precip in the channel looks like its heading off to France and the Precip to the North doesnt look a lot!?!?

Just short rain showers here this morning so far.I hope we don't have yet another disapointment and not get any snow!
We had sleet here near Wimborne this morning! then a heavy wintry shower rain/sleet about 30mins ago. Lets hope we get our foot of snow tonight! believe it when i see it though!

Wow, thats the first time ive ever seen a RED for Dorset! - ITV weather just said a 30cm (1 Foot) of snow is ment to fall here! fingers crossed! - believe it when i see it!

If that is from the precipitation charts, I would take absolutely no notice at all. I have never found them to be accurate.
Gosh, I'm having a right old go at everything this morning!
Don't worry!. It's just from the local forecast bit. Considering it said 60% chance of snow for 9am this morning when there wasnt even a cloud to be seen, therefore yes i'll take no notice!. Ive always used Windguru for years and its never failed! always spot on and it forecasts a lot of precip allday weds and a strong NE wind. Its the first time since this "cold spell" began that they have put precip for us with cold temps.

I Agree, the Southwest including Dorset may aswell seperate from the Mainland and drift to the med or somewhere!

Netweather giving Dorset a 72% - 95% chance of moderate to heavy snow allday. Not sure how reliable the local forecasts are though!?

The Netweather Extra 5-minute radar suggests it's snowing over Central Southern England.

This is shaping up to be the best WARM RAIN spell since 28/12/2009!!

One thing I have noticed today is that the cloud's have been going in opposite direction's.
Lower cloud moving North,Higher cloud moving South.
Might not be much but in alot of TS Storm's I have seen this weird setup many times,though this is a snow event.
Noticed this here in Dorset late afternoon with the higher cloud moving from West to East and Lower Cloud East to west!. Was going to ask what this signals earlier but though i might make myself sound dumb!!

HAHAHA Theres a warning on the METO for Dorset but for Heavy Rain lol on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Its nice to know Dorset is the only county in the country with its own climate though where snow does not exsist!!

I dont want to be too negative but a lot of forecasts are giving temps of 9c or even into double figures here in Dorset so thats our snow chance out the window! - It couldn't even snow at 1c here lol

Dorset will no doubt get about 10inches of RAIN while every over county in the UK will get 10 inches of SNOW lol :lol: :blush:

Whats happened with this thread!! How is any of the last couple of pages of people talking crap got to do with the cold spell??
Nice Clear day here in East Dorset - not sure whats ment to happen next week in terms of snow. Some sites not even mentioning cold and forecasting temps of 8c-9c most of next week?

Wow, what an eventful day weatherwise, never had anything like it before! we've had pretty much every type of weather here today in East Dorset with about 4 or 5 great Thunderstorms with Hail, gusty winds etc. There was even some wet snow mixed into the rain this morning. Starting to feel a bit warmer though!

bad news - the final bit of precip for here is rain with some big flakes mixed in so just melted he covering we did have! - ahwell only December!

After rain on and of all day it has been snowing here in Broadstone for about an hour now. Just starting to settle on the cars and some of the ground. Shall be interested to see if it continues.

I was too after all the hype about Dorset getting upto 1 Foot of snow over night! - We must be the Only county to not get any snow whatsoever now! - Frustrating! - Lets hope that all this precip heading for us now brings something other than the usual rain!
