  1. See the East and mid-west of America is going into a deep freeze again, anyone who says there is no link between us being snowless and them being in a snowfest is daft. It's obviously the trend in the past few years. Lets see how much of a downgrade we get on the 12z. Good roll on summer (we all know spring won't happen either lol :-D )
  2. so, how is the snow going to get out of happening this time? No doubt the front will just barge straight east on wednesday, pulling in milder air behind it. This really is the worst period of weather watching we've ever had!
  3. I'm so , so very tired. we have had to put up with rubbish for 3 years now. I don't care how old anyone is, everyone I've spoken to around here, even people in their 80s, have not seen a period so devoid of snow. I'm so tired of the models whipping everything away from us at the last minute. the more 'clever' people on here will say I'm being silly and that I should not look beyond such and such a period. but I don't think anything has ever ben as misleading as it has been these past 2-3 years. Have the models become less reliable or has the weather? We really need to ask this question!
  4. Here too in Bedworth, it's like a hurricane! Stuff is going bang down the street, wouldn't surprise me to be chimney pots!
  5. don't burst my bubble! this is the most excited I've been all winter!
  6. But, what it doesn't say is "colder weather MAY develop later in February". They are committing to it!
  7. I do think if it can flip so far one way, it can flip back the other, we just have to wait. No doubt all the warmest synoptics will be at this end of the year and the coldest in summer. I'm starting to think I should switch my allegiances to warm instead of cold in winter
  8. Aside from the deaths that snow causes, much further into the tropics is snow going to get? http://focustaiwan.tw/news/asoc/201601240011.aspx First snow recorded ever in Taipei Taiwan :-(
  9. I can't believe are yet again watching America being buried by snow, and yet we struggle to get an inch. 3 years it'll be soon, 3 years without snow staying on the ground for more than 24 hours. Fair enough last week we had an inch, but it was slushy and was melting even as it fell. I really do hope the winter will get its finger out, according to the Met office, we should have between 5-10 days of lying snow per year!
  10. Remember, if all the charts aren't showing a snowmaggedon , there is probably a cold spell in the offing. How is the reliability of the charts after the last 3 weeks debacle? They are still flipping about I gather.
  11. Well, all the snow is now melted, so it's back to 100% boring weather for a while. There are rumblings in the stars thought, that we may get a juicier bite of the cherry before long, I have faith this time, it just feels right
  12. some of the best snowfalls we've had over the past 5 years have been from areas like this developing right overhead, remember that one in January 2013, we got almost a foot from that and it wasn't expected. Let's hope the weather gods smile upon us!
  13. the rate it's coming down it'll only keep what we have going, it's not gonna build up much. But it's a bonus and who knows, there may even be more developments later on. The 850s are actually higher today than last night too!
  14. Anyone got any thoughts about tonight and tomorrow's snow chances?
  15. On the radar, the stuff to the southwest of here, over Gloucestershire, is swinging back up this way. It could pep up as it meets the cold air, or it could be rain lol
  16. We get up to over 600ft in this part of Warwickshire, I'm at 400ft, that helps a lot. this is the highest ground between here and the east coast
  17. starting to settle on the roads now, i think the drizzle and rain must have washed the salt away. It's going to be dangerous out later, take care all!
  18. Huge wage of precipitation heading down the country. I'm getting excited now!
  19. Moderate snow with big flakes, sticking to everything but the road
  20. Wrong, the cold air must be coming down, because all my rain has turned to snow and I'm at least 15 miles west of you
