Has anyone noticed too, it's not 2am and we're not all hanging on for dear life for a sleety mess? This si the real deal! At last 'safe snow'! :-D
Spotted my problem, I'm in a very tiny dry slot. Doesn't last long thankfully. Hopefully I'll see something soon.
You'll be fine very shortly dude :-)

Looking at my cordyline, we are getting on for a cm here already!
-
It's actually back-building from here! I'm going to die!!! ><

This is sort of like that one we had in Jan 2013, where nothing was forecast at all and then it developed off the Wash and just kept coming. We got almost a foot out of that set-up.
Hope springs eternal ay? :-)

So far a good dusting, I'm happy though :-)

Gonna be a wash streamer for some folk tonight (probably not this far north, more towards Northants) But it's great to see, hopefully more surprises over the next few days, before HP moves in. :-)

Starting to whiten up the place, very nice surprise this is :-D

Snowing well here, big flakes too! :-D
-
Just started snowing lightly in Nottingham!
Good thing about this snow is, seeing as it's not marginal, if you have a close look at the flakes, they should be perfect looking snowflakes.
Could any of you who get that snow, please try to take some close-ups of the structures of the flakes? :-)

Anyone want to take any bets as to where they fizzle out? I'm gonna say Rutland myself, as they pass over some higher ground. :-D

Just had a few flakes falling here, almost graupel. They didn't melt, they evaporated, must be low humidity?
-
White rabbits!
I really hope something does crop up soon, it's turning out to be one of the biggest disappointments since 2010, where we also had to wait nearly 2 weeks into the cold spell to see meaningful lying snow.
I mean, seriously, how can Siberia get snow when it's 2000 miles away from the coast and here we are 100 miles from the coast and no moisture can ever seem to reach us?
Nobody has every been able to explain that.....it's witchcraft I tell ya! WITCHCRAFT! *cackles in deranged way that only snow-starved Midlanders have a right to* :-P

There's alot of precipitation popping up again!!
-
but temp on the rise now 1.7C
it was 2'c here yesterday with higher dew points and snow? Are you sure it's not snizzle?
-
Goes for a weird kink over the UK for Mon night/tues? must be some sort of feature there
You'd have thought so, but there is zero precipitation shown again. :-/
1 month left of winter, all I want is a two day period where snow lies and doesn't thaw.....I will be happy then.
That's rain though isn't it?
Nope it's all showing up as snow
-
I wish we could actually get a snowfall that sticks without melting for a whole 24 hours, it really is a rubbish cold spell in that respect. That I've seen falling and briefly lying snow does not excuse this cool spell.
According to the met office, we should see between 5-7 days on average of lying snow in this part of the Midlands, per year.
Would be nice to be average, n'est pas?

Well it's changed direction and is heading more south now.
There are lots of folk down that way who deserve some snow, so I won't begrudge it....this time :-)
-
The main blob is now starting to turn southeastwards , I think Oxfordshire will do well out of this and thereafter the south.
-
Dew points and temperatures are between -2'c and 0'c all across the region, I think it'll be fine to be 100% snow for the vast majority of us. :-)

It will remain marginal for much of the night I'm afraid.
Marginal is fine.....it's all we ever get :-D
-
Has that little feature started to develop a rotation of sorts, like a small low?
-
4000 posts...yay me! :-D

Just checked the N-W radar, looks like there is very light precip over your area mate.
Not showing up on mine, is that the paid for radar matey? I keep meaning to get that again, but I'd spend far too much time glued to the damn thing :-D

So, where are these showers supposed to come from? Is there a convergence zone again like last night, where they magically pop up out of thin air, or are they the ones currently over the north of Scotland?
