Hi - apologies if this has been asked before. I often like to use the Hi-Res Rainfall Total Maps, but would be interested if there was a way to zoom in on these (and compare with what my weather station says). Probably like the last 24 hours feature on the live radar. Would this ever be possible?

Well the amber warning is warranted in North Leeds. Everything other than the road covered in ice! Temp currently 0.1c

About to travel back from London and can report sleet in Harrow. Hopefully we don't get freezing rain in Leeds!

Glad to see Sheffield and other places saw some snow. Sadly nothing in Leeds though potentially a risk of flurries tomorrow. As noted at the start some will get lucky with surprise snow falls, whilst others (sadly me) will miss out! Still a few days to go though. GFS and other suggest it turning milder early next week, though still too early to speculate for the day itself. I was hoping to get into the garden between Christmas and NYE, so I am conflicted on what I want the weather to be (frozen ground wouldn't be ideal..!)

My first winter back in the North, and what a start! Still, if taken at face value I'd have been better off in the south going be the latest GFS and ECM
In my experience these systems tend to trend south closer to the time, so we shall see what happens. Chance of a dusting or more on Thursday before turning much colder. If we can trend easterly like last nights 18z then perhaps some reasonable snow chances into next week. Otherwise whilst it looks mostly dry on current runs I'd not rule out surprises. I can count many times when i was nearer Sheffield when models looked dry but closer to the time there where some 'surprises'. Let's see how it evolves over the next couple of days
I'm now in Roundhay at about 135m asl. Hoping snow chances will be better than nearer to Worksop  (though 2010 was pretty epic for us!). I suppose a challenge for Leeds is the Pennines and North York moors sucking the life out of any precipitation!

Few weather stations showing 40c in Leeds, based on the average of the others we must have maxed at around 39c so far..?

Asked the family to check the weather station in Harrow, currently 39.8c, so close...

Indeed, gutted i don't have my weather station with me at the moment. Just how high will it go..?

Sadly couldn't bring my weather station to Leeds (yet) so relying on those of you close to Roundhay to see what temperature we reach in Leeds. All i know is it is a tad warm.. Had to move downstairs last night. So far mostly sunny but there is quite a bit of high level cloud around.

Can't stand this level of heat but if we are going to have it we might as well go for the record! I'm going to guess my part of Leeds tops at 38c or 39c.

Rather cloudy for what is my near first full day living in Leeds! Hopefully the sun pops out later. Sadly I've already worked out my ASL is 135m ish (Roundhay). Hoping my snow prospects now improve from being in NW London...
