Glad I made the call not to set off after all as I had a hunch that at best it would be right on the coast in Lincolnshire and not worth the trip when it Is nothing of not.
On to the next chase.
two strikes right on the coast just to east in between weymouth and Bournemouth further west by the looks of it, if that storm takes it's current path that would take it over Lincolnshire to my naked eye.
I Am just to the North East of Chesterfield not seen any lightning or heard any thunder but the rain is torrential here and has been for the last 15 minutes.
Been out for a walk at Ringinglow snowed heavily for the majority of the walk but it didn't settle.
Crazy that we have had 2 straight days of falling snow yet didn't even get that in winter.
The flooding videos i have seen in Sheffield are giving me awful reminders of 2007 where was the warnings i cant recall seeing any warning of serious floods as we have seen today and judging by the radar could get a whole lot worse.
These people that question these warnings need to get a grip they were forecast 80-90mph down south.
The winds were not that strong here and it brought trees down and ripped tiles off 1 of which came within couple of foot of potentially killing me.
So if these warnings save lives I am all for them what would these people rather have a warning or no warning at all and end up potentially getting seriously injured or worse .
Thanking my lucky stars after this came off my roof as I came out the house if that had hit me I dont think I would he here today.
The tiles on my roof were flapping in the wind I hope these forecasted gales stay away tomorrow don't want anymore damage.
Saw the news too and saw that people had lost their lives due to falling trees if just goes to show you can be in the wrong place at the wrong time a clue of feet the other way and that could have been me.
I love a good storm like the rest of us on here but it is a stark reminder of the unforgiving power of mother nature that takes no prisoners.
My heart goes out to the families of those that sadly lost their lives to Storm Eunice too ❤
I think people are being naive to think that Storm Dudley won't do much damage too many are brushing it off as nothing.
Especially for the North there are tens of thousands of properties in the North East that are still repairing their roofs from Storm Arwen with many still missing parts of their roof/tiles and having work done on them it won't take much to completely destroy people's roofs and that is just for a start.
Funny you should mention the 60th anniversary of the Great Sheffield Gale as it was known I nly had this conversation with my dad about this the other day.
From reading up about the winds they were caused by a temperature inversion which lead to a rapid rise in windspeeds.
We can only hope and pray that doesn't occur this time around.
Yeah I have seen and heard there was snow in Dronfield near my family.
But right at the very top of Ringinglow Road there is a slushy covering at top of Ox Stones.
