It really bothers me too, as someone interested in astronomy. It just gets worse as the days go by, I can only hope we can find a solution one day. -

Came across as a forecast that had not been updated with newer data. The national forecast was quite clear in the 80mph gust on the coasts. It will be an interesting day

Typically very cloudy last night for the Aurora. Managed the tiniest of glimpses through the cloud of a slight glow.

Just on the heavy side of the rain shadow, so we’ve had constant heavy rain in saddleworth. Some roads are flooding.

They will eat other spiders, even ones much bigger than themselves!

Yellow jacket is an American term for those common yellow wasps we see. Some of those species can be very aggressive at times. I’ve been lucky though, if one bothers me at a pub garden and goes after my pint I just stay calm, let it crawl on my hand or whatever for a bit and then go on their way

Wasps are actually valuable pollinators too and they hunt a lot of garden pests to feed their larvae. Believe it or not, not all wasps readily sting. Interestingly one of the most docile wasps in the UK is the European Hornet, they don’t tend to sting unless you bother them near their nest
