  1. Lovely surprise to be woken up by a thunderstorm. Several cloud to ground strikes and one monumentous bang nearby! (Reddish currently)
  2. Sadly missed out today, dry here. oh well another week with no rain coming up!
  3. Can hear the thunder in the distance, everything is to the south of me atm though.
  4. I wonder, what's the latest we have reached 20C for the first time in recent years?
  5. Personally I’m hoping for quite a wet spring to reduce the fires we normally get up here. It would be good to properly soak the ground ready for whatever summer May bring.
  6. Granted we had the added height above sea level here but this is 23rd April 2017 at about 250m.
  7. Some thick heavy snow for a time but not sticking below 400m in saddleworth. Now I’m Manchester just rain.
  8. Can’t see there being much in the way of snow this evening except the high ground. Maybe some flakes in heavier bursts but ground is quite warm.
  9. Tuesday is looking interesting next week, short lived but fairly potent N/NW blast. as the charts stand frontal rain turning to snow and showers through the Cheshire gap?
  10. Gorgeous heavy fluffy snow. Stick to surfaces but not roads. About half an inch on the grass so far.
  11. Some pretty decent moderate snow the last hour. Got about 1cm on surfaces away from the roads.
  12. 2013 was interesting here. We got a lot of snow in saddleworth, while a few miles further towards Manchester, almost dry.
  13. Some nice light snow coming down. Stick to the grass and trees but not the paths and roads.
  14. It’s such a shame. I’m sure we will get big snowfalls again at some point, but the wait between them looks like getting longer.
  15. I think it has show that for us in Saddleworth we need a WNW to be in that sweet spot. Having said that, we’ve had a nice dusting and today has been spectacular, especially on the tops.
  16. It does help when you’re in the middle of a continent and 1600m absl
  17. Freezing fog most of the day, some lovely rime forming on vegetation above 200m. First snow shower passed through half an hour ago, have a little dusting.
  18. Heavy Wet snow here in Greenfield, 0.3°c. Looks like it will turn to rain later though.
  19. Struggling to get any lower than -8.3°C, so don’t think we will get -10°C tonight but still impressive cold
