  1. Interesting spiral of organised precipitation on the radar crossing Northern Ireland.
  2. I’m sure if Ireland wasn’t in the way we would get large organised bands like that
  3. No snow here yet. A couple of small hail showers, I’m not expecting anything today now.
  4. Hopefully some snow today with evaporative cooling. Sunday night into Monday is looking pretty windy too! Perhaps windier than we got yesterday.
  5. To be fair most of the morning was forecast to be calm up here, with our strongest gusts later in the afternoon as the low pressure exits into the North Sea. We will have to wait and see if it gets stronger later.
  6. Well people chase hurricanes I guess and they’re much stronger!
  7. Showers mostly missed us so far. Now they’ve started to hit us however they’re only very light despite what it looks like on the radar
  8. Not doing too bad so far this season, 3 snowfalls already and it’s only December 2nd!
  9. Hooray finally the first air frost of the season! -1.8C lastnight.
  10. No not a peep! Some torrential downpours yesterday but nothing went bang. An incredible amount of water pouring off the hills though IMG_1696.MOV
  11. Miserable wet and muggy day today. However I’m quite happy with the rain now to top water levels up and soak the vegetation, ready for a nice warm dry spell later this week
  12. Pretty nice day of weather today! Some very heavy showers with quite a few rumbles of thunder and lightning. In between very pleasant and warm sunshine. Late afternoon turned out very nice indeed.
  13. Waking up to white hills this morning was certainly unexpected! Lovey to see from a weather enthusiasts point of few, but do hope it’s the last of it now
  14. Once the vegetation has greened up on the hills yes . Could do with it being a bit warmer though, speed up the growth.
  15. Haha yes, I do want some nice warm sunny weather. But Bank Holidays are normally really busy at work with lots of bbqs, so at least no problem with those tomorrow
  16. Really looking forward to the rain tomorrow, hopefully we get a good soaking!
  17. Luckily the heaviest bursts seemed to coincide with the burn area. What a shame it couldn’t come sooner
  18. That rain on Tuesday better come! Been on fire watch on our side until 11.30. Team going to help Marsden Moor tomorrow with our argocat.
  19. We also had one on the dove stones side. Sadly went into the woods, but colleagues did a good job of hotspotting when the fire crews left
  20. We desperately need rain. 4th or 5th? Time in the same spot and is definitely arson. I’m currently on fire watch looking at Tintwistle low moor right now!
  21. Really nice convergence zone setting up there! Even sleety with big flakes here in Reddish.
