Any experts got any views regarding this brief easterly on wednesday if the models varify? Wonder if theres a chance of some snow showers pushing in from the coast, would they be heavy? how far would they get inland? Got wednesday off so may take a trip to the north york moors!

Currently -5c here, lovely when its full moon and it lights up the frosty fields near my house, have had 4 days of clear blue skies now, definitely second best to snowy weather

Thanks Craig
Another frosty start here, with temperatures around -1c
Hi Brian,
Yes there were lots of swans, the lake was pretty much covered in all different types of birds, your lucky to live near there mate, such a lovely area, don't suppose you know of a small temple (folly) on top of a hill just outside Hovingham?

Went for a drive and a walk around the howardian hills today, lovely winter weather, surprised to see that the great lake at castle howard still has over 50% ice on it. wish it would snow though currently 0.4c so its cold enough for it

just had moderate sleet in york, bit of a let down, anyone know if things will improve?

Took a trip up onto the Yorkshire wolds last night around thixendale/leavening, still plenty of snowcover with some lovely drifts across the roads, some a few feet deep, felt like a mini version of ice road truckers as they slam through the drifts . Should be a decent top up tonight and will stay as snow up there when maybe it will turn to rain/sleet down here. Anyone living nearby to this area should definatly take a trip there, watching the sunset over the vale of york from garrowby hill is definatly worth the trip!

-3.6 in York, everything turning white already. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Had rain here for 3 hours now, took a drive to the wolds where its snowing at 250m with major drifting from the wind. Will it stay rain here or will it turn to snow?

Rather disappointed last night as the North York Moors ate all the showers before they reached york, just hoping today isnt another let down and that band of snow heads right over me from the north sea, anyone have any idea what time that will come inland? thanks

i was in fridaythorpe in the yorkshire wolds at around 10pm and there was a 5 minute heavy snow shower but it fell as rain in york.

Have you tried this site for your area mate?:
I have my own weather station in my back garden mate, although its strange how the university shows 4.4c when mine shows 2.9c :S

If precipitation were to fall now, you'd, most likely, see rain. That could easily change, so Don't forget to keep an eye on those Dew Points as well
Yeh it would definatly rain now, doesnt feel cold enough for snow, i calculated my dew point and its 2c at the moment so hopefully things will change Brian

Anyone know what precipitation will fall as in York, currently 3 degrees.

Not really that fussed about seeing anything significant, especially as the roads up there can be treacherous even after a small covering, i chase most snow which comes within 50 miles of my house and havent done that since december so im really itching to get out and see something wintry even if it is just a wee shower
