  1. 9.9c to the 10th here, 2.1c above the 1981-2010 average. GFS continuing to water down the cold as per winter so still unsure if we can get back to average.
  2. Big drop to 9.2c overnight, now 1.4c above the 1981-2010 average here. Couple or rises now likely before the cooler weather sets in next week, can we get back to average?
  3. Id say probs Sunday afternoon, not too late though! ECM showing wintry showers along the east coast this time next week so maybe a BBQ and a snowchase in the same week?
  4. 9.7c here to the 5th, 1.9c above the 1981-2010 average. Looking like a warm up peaking on Sunday, then quite a drop next week and beyond if the models are to believe.
  5. 10.3c here to the 3rd, 2.5c above the 1981-2010 average. Can't remember the last below average day here :O
  6. Gorgeous evening here with sunshine and light winds. Currently 14c.
  7. 9.3c here after the 1st, 1.5c above the 1981-2010 average.
  8. March here continued the theme after a mild and dry winter with an average temp of 8.3c, which is 2.5c above the 1981-2010 average. We had 42mm of rain which is only slightly drier than normal. Only one day of wet snow falling from a small shower and only 2 frosts made it feel much more like Spring than an extension of winter this year unlike previous years.
  9. Finished 8.3c here with a very mild end, 2.5c above the 1981-2010 average. Also 3c warmer than last March.
  10. LOL my rainfall data without the new bucket will be useless XD The reason I'm interested in the FARS as a guy has a VP2 with it in a neighbouring village that seems less "jerky" with reactions to sunlight, mine seems to jump up and down quite often when sunlight hits the radiation shield. His temps can often be 2 or 3 degrees lower than mine on sunny days and his mirror the forecasted temps by the Met Office and also closer to the temps recorded by the nearest MetO official stations. Yesterday as an example our area was forecast 16C yet I hit 19C whilst the fella with the FARS had a max of 16C 4 miles away. His station is around 50m higher and in an open field. My location is very rural but I do think my slightly enclosed garden is a "warm spot". Here's a few pics from a different angle, and worth noting my neighbour is currently cutting his large trees down in his garden to.my west which should allow a lot more airflow through the garden as of this weekend.
  11. @reef @Mapantz Another update on the station progress, anemometer Is now up on chimney breast at around 10 meters, so accuracy with wind recordings should be very accurate now, however there are some trees around 100 yards away to the SW that will cause some deflection, especially in summer when in full leaf. Next job is to get the FARS accessory to ensure my garden isnt recording too high during calm sunny days. Not too fussed about Solar and UV data for the time being so quite happy with the VUE console. My old VUE ISS is going to a new home in the Yorkshire Wolds where it will collect data from a village with a fascinating micro climate, so at least that is going to a good home.
  12. 18.7C max here, however it is quite early for this area. Usually Mid April onwards for the first 20c.
  13. 7.9c here to the 29th, 2.1c above the 1981-2010 average. Quite substantial warmth this month, looking certain to finish above the normal mean temp for APRIL which is 7.8c. Last March we finished below average, at 5.2c, so quite a difference between this March and last year.
  14. A chilly day with low cloud persisting and a light SE breeze. Current temp: 5.1c Max Temp: 9.6c Min Temp: 3.8c No rain however there was some drizzle at times from the low cloud. Wind currently 5mph from SSE Pressure 1022.7hPa
  15. 7.7c to the 26th here, 1.9c above the 1981-2010 average. Looking like final figure will be about 2c above average.
  16. Winter by night and Spring by day currently with overnight air frosts and mid teens by day. Only managed 14c today rather than yesterday's 17c due to a bit more of a breeze off the North Sea. Here's a night and day scene at the moment round here shown by these 2 pics I took this weekend.
  17. 7.8c here to the 23rd, 2c above 1981-2010 average. We could well see a large diurnal range tomorrow too with a forecast low of -1c and a high of 13/14c.
  18. Coldest this year was -4c which has been the minimum for the past 4 winters. During 2009-2013 we breached -10c in each winter with the coldest being Jan 13 with -13c.
  19. After some early morning rain we now have clear blue skies. Currently 9.8c with a moderate ENE breeze gusting to 27mph. The overnight min was 3.0c and we 0.4mm of rainfall early this morning. Windchill making it feel more like 5c despite the sunshine.
  20. 8.0c here to the 21st, 2.2c above the 1981-2010 average. Gonna take a stab at a month finish of 7.7c.
  21. 8.2c to the 19th here, 2.4c above the 1981-2010 average. Cool down on the way but by how much?
  22. Thundersnow reported in the Yorkshire Dales near Hawes in the last hour. Tomorrow looks good too!
