  1. Evening @SarahWxm Sadly I have to agree with you. As @Weather-history has just said, the needle on the ‘bust-o-meter’ has sprung into life. Anyway… This is the current state of play with the rainfall radar and an extremely quiet lightning map. I’m still hoping that something builds afterwards… Although that hope is fading.
  2. No rain here as yet… But this is my current view looking south west towards the Clwydian Range. ????
  3. Really hot and muggy here in North East Wales at the moment. This is currently my view to my south.
  4. This heat is slowly crippling me! I currently look, smell and feel like week old bloated summer road kill that’s been washed up in a storm drain! … Nice orderly queue please ladies, nice orderly queue.
  5. Morning everyone. I see that the UK Meto have just issued an updated thunderstorm warning for today. As ever, good luck to everyone with this today. ?⛈??????
  6. Morning everyone Apologies if I’m not adding anything new here, but the UK Meto app on my phone has just told me of this thunderstorm warning for tomorrow. Although I’m a midges worth outside of the warning area, I really hope something kicks off with this, as I dare say that most on here, (including myself) are feeling really quite storm at the moment. ?⛈??????
  7. And another day in the Eye of Sauron’s dissecting gaze. Still… I take comfort from the fact that the sun is in the sky for four seconds less than yesterday, (hey it’s a start!), and also this beautiful cooling gentle autumnal mist just hanging in the air this morning. Signs of autumn number one? ?
  8. 10:13 on Tuesday the 21st of June 2021, and the summer solstice has just occurred! Yes folks, the pendulum has finally reached the end of its stroke! ️ Today we have got nine hours and twenty seven minutes more daylight than we had back in December! As a sufferer of summer S.A.D. I for one look forward shortening days, gathering mists, ripening fruits, and look forward to welcoming the increasing darkness; like an old friend returning. ? I’m fully aware that summer has still got one or two nasty tricks up it’s sleeve, but this is an important milestone/turning point that needs celebrating. The summer sun is fading as the year grows oldAnd darker days are drawing near…
  9. Here it is folks… The day of the solstice! 10:13 is the time… I’ll see you all on the other side of it.
  10. Signs of autumn number one. Chasing fog… A beautiful autumnalesq morning watching the mist and hill fog rolling in. Almost single digit minima as well! ?? Hey, the summer solstice is tomorrow! So then the nights will be getting longer as well!
  11. What a beautiful cooler feeling grey day yesterday was. … A today currently feels the same! Long may it continue! ??????
  12. Morning everyone. Although no storms are forecast for my area, this is my sky this morning… Plus I’ve got loads of thunder bugs as well! ?⛈??????
  13. Sooooo… This is the current temperature here in North East Wales. ? … And this is after driving home for about half an hour! ? I just hope and pray that this goes ‘BANG’ big time! Otherwise it’s a lot of completely unnecessary suffering, with no pay back whatsoever! ?⛈??
  14. Today is meant to be the day that this heat spike starts… And I’m absolutely dreading it!
  15. I hate the heat, and I hate the glarey overhead summer sun. Anything over 18° is too warm, unless we’re going to get a big thunderstorm. Deep in my soul, I am currently craving cool, grey, misty, foggy autumn days.
  16. Hello everyone. Time for a look into the crystal ball that are the CFS v2 four weekly anomalies....... Week 1 - 10th to the 16th June: High pressure to our south over Spain and France, low pressure up to our northwest... This puts us in a south westerly airflow, certainly not cold, but I think we can expect spells of rain at times... Pretty much what we've had so far really. Week 2 - 17th June to the 23rd June: A mid Atlantic ridge of high pressure, meanwhile low pressure, over us, but slightly to the east could leave us in a cool(er) and showery air flow. I'm not saying a total wash out, just classic European summer monsoon. Week 3 - 24th to the 30th June: Rinse and repeat of week two by the looks of it! Week 4 - 1st to the 7th July: The UK looks to be under the influence of high pressure! But looking at the positioning of the high it could leave us with a cooler, northerly flow. Which at this time of year should mean very pleasant, usable days, without being cooked alive. Well that's my interpretation of these charts anyway. ?️ As ever this is the CFS, and the weather will do, whatever the weather will do!
  17. I feel your pain @Dami. Unless 2022 bucks it’s ideas up soon, this is not looking like a good year for storms unfortunately.
  18. I’m hearing very distant grumblings of thunder from the Wirral area. ???
  19. Hello everyone. Time for my quick look at the CFS v2 four weekly anomaly charts, just to see if they can help other out a little bit... Week 1 - 5th to the 11th June: High pressure is to our south over Spain and Portugal, low pressure out to the west of Ireland... Pretty much what's forecast for this coming week. Wet and potentially wind at times, but with sunny intervals in between the bands of rain. Week 2 - 12th to the 18th June: The low pressure out to our west, meanwhile the high pressure to our south move eastwards into main land Europe. Looking at this, I'm gonna say that an even slightly more unsettled week than this one is lurking on the horizon. Week 3 - 19th to the 25th June: High pressure out to our west in the Atlantic, and high pressure out to our east over central Europe... Nothing showing over us here in the UK, but that could be trough of low(er) pressure... I think we need to see how this one progresses. Week 4 - 26th June to the 2nd July: High pressure still out to our west, low pressure over Scandinavia, to me this would put us in a northerly air flow. Certainly not a wash out, but no heatwave either. So there you go... Sorry if that's not what people want to se or hear, but that's what the charts are showing.?️ I'll pop back in a few days to see what's changed.
  20. At the risk of being torn limb from limb and then battered to death with the soggy ends, I have to say that as a summer S.A.D. sufferer, I found it very pleasant to wake up this morning to grey skies and drizzle, and then the sight of the mist and hill fog starting to roll in as I took the dog for a walk at 05:00 this morning cheered up my cold, dark, miserable heart up no end. ?️?️ ... And before anyone starts at me, I haven't posted this to troll anyone, just merely stating a personal opinion.
  21. Morning @SteveB Sadly I’m kinda inclined to agree with you about that. Although on paper the synoptic setups have been right for us to get storms, it’s just felt a tad too cool. Having said that, I do remember one impressive all nighter in 1994/5 (can’t remember which year off the top of my head sorry) which until the mid afternoon was just a normal cloudy day, but oh boy did the atmosphere turn juicy afterwards! … And then the electrical show kicked in! ?⛈ So I do kinda live in hope that something like that will happen again for us all. ?⛈??
  22. Morning @Azuremoon2 To be fair, 2020 was a pretty damn impressive year for storms. ?⛈ In fact it’s about the only positive thing that I can say about 2020! If my memory serves me correctly… There was a week long thundery spell around the middle part of June! Last year, although not as good as the previous, was still not bad. All I’ve had this year was one poxy rumble of thunder! ? Still, there’s time for the situation to improve for us storm starved folk. ??
  23. … And for the record… Here is the revised storm warning from the UK Meto. Much too far south for me today. But good luck to all of the other members of this forum who are closer to this warning. ??
  24. Aaaaaaand the UK Meto have just cancelled yesterdays thunderstorm warning. From an IMBY perspective, this year is starting to look a tad on the barren side for storms. Ahhh well… Until the next time… It’s over and out from Storm Starved in north east Wales.
  25. Morning everyone. I see that the UK Meto have just issued a thunderstorm warning for tomorrow. ?⛈????
