Although sadly shortlived the weather yesterday was lovely, I want to whine about the fact that I was stuck in a really cold office or on teh underground and missed most of it, why couldnt it be nice this weekend? I noticed this summer that the nice weather occured Monday to Wednesday and then it was generally down hill to wet and windy until Sunday and then nice again on Monday, this is my own observation and definitely not scientific! In general I prefer Autumn/winter to spring/summer, nothing beats a crisp sunny day for making you feel alive, plus a nice hard frost, a day where you can wrap up and go out for a walk and possibly kick through a few nicely organised piles of leaves or stay in, keep warm and watch the light change. Aaaahhhhhhhh On a less happy note, i am not lookig forward to getting up at 5.30am in winter, nice feeling has gone :-(

It's just started thundering in Milton Keynes. I'm so glad I took today off work!!!

Light snow in South West Milton Keynes.

Woke up to a light dusting of snow down in the south west corner of Milton Keynes, it was still snowing at 7.20 but stopped as it grew lighter.

A few rumbles of thunder occuring around 3:40pm here in SW Milton Keynes.

Snowed almost continuously since about 7.45am here in MK, with heavier bursts at times. Absolutely lovely to see some snow!

Went outside at 5.22pm and witnessed the start of a very light snow shower, the wind has just woken up too and is quite strong. 5.38pm and IT'S SNOWING!

Snowfall appears to be getting heavier now with a few larger flakes chucked in for good measure, thank you please!

I do enjoy reading these serious discussions The flowers seem to be quite happy down here in MK, there are quite a few still blooming and popping up through the cracks in't concrete.

Rain non stop since early am, has gotten heavier and more persistant as the day has progressed. There is now a fair amount of surface water(also known as puddles) on local estate roads. Nice weather for ducks! :o

The bright sky was short lived, just heard a rumble of thunder!

i totally agree, i am off out for a bike ride as soon as it stops raining! It seems to be a running trend over the last few weeks, dull all day and then clearing in the evening in time for sunset, not moaning, just glad i can enjoy it! I can see blue sky!!!!

fairly heavy downpour now

Mderate rain for the last hour in south MK, it has turned very dark in the last 10 minutes.

storm just passed over MK, still some fantastic purple streaks of lightning off to the north!! will hopefully be able to upload some photos. I still have a headache so i don't think it is over yet!
