  1. Where is your sensor located? Walled gardens and sheltered spots can alter temp, but if it is located in a clear area with a view of the sky then I would say that is about right!
  2. I hope I belong in this thread, Meto doesn't have a home for Milton Keynes either! I have been tracking the band of rain/potential sleet snow coming over from the NE at the moment, I think it is going to be dissapointing and it will just be rain. Today the max temp in MK was approx 5 degrees and it has now dropped to 4.4 degrees with a dew point of 2.1 degrees, like was mentioned in another post above the temperatures are not dropping away (as many of us would expect). IMHO we will see rain into the evening from this band and a possible sleety mix at best. Changing the subject slightly, my sister is getting married on Saturday down in the South East, I wonder if she will have a white wedding? Doozer
  3. Thats approxiamtely my area, temp depending, it's plausible, but this cold spell is taking longer to develop than was anticpiated a few days ago, its a location and temp lottery. At the moment it approx 5 degrees and dropping.
  4. Don't worry if needs be I can lend you one I made earlier!
  5. IMO, things are still up in the air with regards to a white xmas, my bet is cold and dry, howevever it is looking likey that it will turn colder from Thur/Fri onwards which will continue during the run up to xmas. I hope this helps Doozer
  6. It looks like cold and frosty next week and into next weekend, a cold, crisp winter day would be lovely for my sisters wedding. Hopefully not too much grumbling but lots of appreciation that its not wet and windy
  7. Frosty start, was 4 degrees at 11am. Experienced a very light sleety rain shower about 10 minutes ago, it's a shame temps seem to be on the rise!
  8. The articel is very repetitious, almost like there wasn't enough material available to make a newsworthy story! lol!
  9. There is an abundance of spiders here, constructing their webs across every footpath, on every car wing mirror. Luckily I only really have a fear of cellar spiders, so I am coping well!
  10. Because I can't put my weather station up I don't have accurate measurements, but it looks like Milton Keynes is roughly on 4-5mm of rain this month and a current approximation of 14 days without rain but I am aware that other folk may have more accurate data. I vaguley remember is starting to spit the other day but I have no idea whether I was in London, Cheshire or MK! I have to say I haven't really noticed the lack of rain, its always damp from the dew when I leave home in the morning.
  11. Human activity, mainly deforestation and at one time poaching, are the reasons why Giant Panda's are listed as endangered, not evolution. Nurturing and protecting the mammal is the least we can do for robbing it of its natural habitat.
  12. Big dark cloud just landed in C London, wind got up and everything but it appears to be a non-starter!
  13. Yep, I put my tiredness to one side and made an effort to watch it! In fact, I have favourited it!
  14. I do send weblinks to my home address but am always too tired to look at them when I get home! lol!
  15. I'd never have guessed! I am unable to see what the onion is, damn internet restrictions!
  16. Lovely fresh morning, Temps of 12 degrees at 7am, clear sky with a few cirrus clouds hanging around.
  17. Awww you poor thing, that't one thing I don't see much of anymore, grit boxes by the side of the road (on hills mostly), they are quite handy in the conditions you speak of. I actually used rock salt from my kitchen to partially defrost my driveway earlier this year. I can remember the winters of the early 90's down on the most eastern coast of Essex. One memory involves my mum driving us home from school (it was shut because of the snow) and the back end of the car overtaking the front end on a hill, I was very excited, my mum however was not!! :-)
  18. A heavyish shower passed through Central London about 20 minutes ago, got my sparkly shoes wet :-( Looks like there could be more on the way in the next half hour, drizzling at the moment.
  19. Looks like things are kicking off in the Milk 'n' Beans area, shame i'm stuck in Central London!
  20. I do love the cold, I adored the snow earlier this year and took hundreds of photographs and hardly slept! I have my own driveway and footpath leading to my house so I knew I had snow that no one else would walk on :-) I kept praying for clouds everytime it was sunny, in case it melted the snow!!! I do agree that slipping over on snow/ice is a serious problem in winter and the issues with gritting earlier this year only exasperated the situation in a lot of places, I saw a few people fall down. I think I was lucky because I could work from home, so I didnt have to risk skidding around car parks or slipping over! I can't wait for the first properly cold morning!
