  1. Geographically speaking, suffolk and norfolk are part of, or form East Anglia! According to the government regional offices, cambridgeshire and the City of Peterborough are also part of EA. That is all!
  2. ah-ha! The blob on the radar has just started to appear over the tops of yonder houses! Could it be?
  3. Thats how I feel and yet I am more likely to share weather with the Midlands rather than Essex!
  4. Now i'm confused, where does Milton Keynes belong? Here or East Anglia/South East discussion, even the Meto can't decide where we belong!!
  5. I would take heed of local council and Highways Agency warnings and only make journeys if they are absolutely neccessary. I was supposed to be travelling to Essex tomorrow morning but have decided to postpone. It is also worth noting that some Local Authorities are not gritting on minor roads this weekend in a bid to preserve salt supplies.
  6. The BBC graphics were misleading as it showed the latter part of the day (thanks for the info JasonUK) when the band of showers have progressed inland to the SW. Overnight Saturday into Sunday we are still expecting snow, no idea how much yet and where but it is likely we will get another covering.
  7. Yes, there are still minute snow grains flying around! It must be slightly heavier where you are in the east, the tiny flurries here are defintely not enough to give a covering, its barely frozen drizzle in the SW.
  8. Very Very Very light snow here in MK, but like frozen drizzle! Sky is very dark but it seems reluctant to produce anything significant!
  9. It lasted less than a minute and really was not worth posting about! it has gone very dark over in the east now!
  10. Rather large and quite potent looking cloud appearing in the east now! p.s snow shower recorded before lasted a whopping minute and consisited of about 6 flakes!
  11. well it is very misleading, I am constantly losing confidence in BBC forecasts!
  12. Can anyone shed any light on the weird BBC forecast for Sunday? According to the Beeb, it seems that the easterly is predicted to only deliver snow to south west England and wales, showing no form of PPN for Eastern England. Cheers
  13. Morning, up until around 11pm last night, MK had one teeny tiny snow shower which I noticed while I was clearing my driveway at around 6.30pm-6.45pm. Last night was not as cold as Wednesday night with a low of -5. I am quietly confident of a few more showers before nightfall!
  14. I was hoping that with the wind direction it would curl them down our way, nevermind! Hope you OK Doozer
  15. Current temp -1 with a dew point of -6.3 (according to nearest weather station), with a light WNW wind blowing.
  16. Hmmmmm, I wonder if any of those showers, currently heading in from the wash, will be potent enough to reach MK?
  17. It has clouded over in MK in the last 10 minutes, Sky looks very dark to the NE, could it be?
  18. Good afternoon, I do agree, across the country it looks great. However, up here in MK i don't think we have beaten last Feb's snow depths but the temperatures are amazing, it dropped below -6 here last night!! Doozer
  19. I think we may be a bit too far west for this system, especially with the N/NW wind that is swirling around the low. Have a look at the Wind map and you will see what I mean: http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ you need to look further north than the showers that are coming in from the wash, these may catch us!
  20. Check out my icicles now, they have grown ince this morning and look quite lethal!
  21. Hi, As usual whether it will snow is anyones guess, but I would not rule out the odd flurry here and there as the snow showers currently affecting East Anglia could travel further inland, but the current N/NE wind may make it difficult. As with all easterlies, it depends on how far inland it travels, IMO I think MK is in a prime position for most snow situations, whether from the South, East or North. THe predicted strong easterly wind will definitely help! Also, with a further 10 days of cold predicted, I think we are in with a chance of seeing further snow showers and possible organised heavy snow events.
