  1. Blimey talk about marginal, I got nothing here in the West of MK!
  2. I would gladly trade overcast skies and sleety snow for bright sunshine and frosty mornings any day (the cloud is getting to me now)!
  3. Temps currently 0.9c with a dew point of -1.6c. Just had a nice chunky snow shower, lasted about 10 minutes with some large flakes. The snow is getting close to settling now, if it carries on like this it won't be long before the grass is covered.
  4. Sleety snow here in MK since approx 7.30/8am (when i looked out of the window) been up to coventry this morning and there is light snow up there too!
  5. Have you tried this link? http://www.weatherstations.co.uk/aws_map.htm Doozer
  6. Thick fog this morning, temperature around 1c with a dew point of -1c (outside my house). Looks like the rain will make the travel situation worse today, washing away snow and leaving the less visible and extra slippy ice underneath.
  7. Hi guys, Here are some photos of todays snow, had approx an inch and it has covered the roads again. The snow is wet and it is thawing whilst it is still snowing. The local roads are pretty bad with people struggling to go anywhere. According to the shouting lady up the road, the main roads are clear now.
  8. Same here in the SW, how long to do you think it will take for the front to pass through? Temp here is +1.4c
  9. That would be excellent!! I have not been to my office (in Surrey) since last Monday and have been working at home. I was going to go this morning but have put it off until lunchtime now, I know I sound like a wuss but why drive when I don't have to? Leighton Buzzard was mentioned on BBC Look East as being an area suffering from hazardous driving conditions!
  10. yep you are right, milder temps for the weekend, could be about 5c! Seasonal average is 6-7c.
  11. About 2cm's here so far, just got a bit heavier, so I can see it without looking at a lampost!
  12. Yep, maybe it likes the South West, stopping to take in the sights and sounds etc!
  13. Sorry, I was trying my optimism hat on, trying to spur it on! But I think you are right, i'ts like me on a Monday morning, really really slow!
  14. Had very very light snow in MK a little while ago too, stopped now though.
  15. Lol, yep, there would be no way on earth that I would go in after it, it's not my dog! Just kidding, the lake is quite shallow anyway so I think he would have been OK!!
  16. I have enjoyed the cold spell too, but would be grateful for some milder sunny days now!
  17. Yeah, I kind of got the whole "it helps to be in the south and west" thing as that is where it is coming from, but I was thinking more from the angle that it is obviously heading north and although it will break down there is a possibility that something residual may pass over us in the Midlands!
  18. Can I just ask why you do not have high hopes for our area, is it because it is likely to break up once it hits cooler air? If it is unlikey for my area which is central then its definitely going to be rubbish for Ipswich, poor you!
  19. It is also very slow moving, temp here is now down to about 1.6c from 2.4c at 11am, so it is dropping away, I think I got concerned because after the last week or so 2c seems positively balmy to me!!
  20. lol, walking dogs by ponds and lakes terrifies me now! I was out for a walk round a local lake on Sunday night and it was frozen solid, so my friend decided to see how frzoen by putting a foot on it (whilst holding on) and the fliippin dog (not a terribly small dog) just walked onto the lake!!! Also, later on we saw a cat or fox running around on the lake (right in the midle) trying to catch a duck for dinner! It is currently 2.4c here and my weather station tells me it is raining, although it isn't! That weather system coming in from the SW is blooming huge, I wonder if it will be snow or rain for us, could the continued cloud cover cause temps to stay above 2c and bring us rain, it just seems like the conditions have left us now?
  21. Good persistant snow shower here in SW MK, settled on the cars and clear bits of pavements! woo! Mind you, I don't think this will be enough to prevent me from driving to work tomorrow
  22. Still snowing lightly here, has been since about 3pm, going for a nice walk round the lake now!
  23. Quick update! Its..............tiny flake.............................teeny flake........................tiny flake now!
