Hi, If you read back to TEITS post, number 265, once the wind switches to an easterly later this afternoon/evening, the temperatures will drop away again and any PPN inland will fall as snow!
There has been a steady thaw here since yesterday evening, temperature currently +1.6c with a dewpoint of -4c. Lots of snow sliding off cars and roof tops and the unwelcome drip, drip drip of ice melting. I fear my really big icicle is going to make a break for it too!
If you want to know why then check out the "general model output discussion" thread, the knowledgeable members are not so quiet in there. Also, please think before you post.
To make a change from the bickering on here, I have a question, What is the reason behind the mild temps (compared to those forecast)? Is it just cloud cover or something front wise travelling in from the east?
I was sparko by 1am so I missed it, the shower around 9pm was a good one too only 5 minutes though, I was pleasantly surprised and do wonder if tomorrow might be a bit better than forecast.
I have to say I am enjoying the glittery snow though!!!
Currently netweather have a 0% chance of snow for me all day today!
I think the easterly will have to kick in a bit more before we see anything significant in land, at present we have a north/north easterly wind and the predicted strong easterly is yet to make any impact beyond the SE and EA.
Good Morning, Had another dusting of snow during the night, possibly given about 0.5-1cm, it's hard to tell as the only non-snow covered surface is my car windscreen! The lowest temperature last night was -4.4 degrees, currently it has climbed to -2.9 degrees. Am I right in assuming that today and tomorrow I should expect much the same as last night, that being showers heading my way on the radar and maybe the odd flurry?
yes, some more snow would be nice, however, I have nearly finished beer number 2 which has gone straight to my head, so i think it is time for me to retire to bed!
Oh wow, I have always wanted to go there, particularly to County Sligo, my favourite poet lived there!
Anyway, back to the topic, snow, snow, snow, snow, snow, hhhmmmm, yes, we have snow!
