Well done for posting the pics Dr Rains , i was getting the feeling nobody belived me that it had snowed probably the heaviest this winter/ spring . ( round here )
Hi , can anyone help Last night i measured 13.5mm of rain in my gauge the trouble is there was a thick snowfall giving approx 1.5 inches on the ground . does anyone know how to equate snow into rainfall as i'm pretty sure the 13.5mm measurement is way over the amount for my area last night .
Just got in from work but would like to report before i left for work at 05:00am there was a very suprising cover of snow over an inch infact...... hope this was winters last visit .
Mixture of sun , cloud and some pacthy light rain at the moment here , big area of blue sky opening up to my SW as i type. Temp= 4.0°c Wind = WSW @ 8mph Barometer = 997.3 rising quickly Humidity = 84% Dewpoint = 1.5°c
Great topic guys makes very interesting reading . Takes me back to my days when i used to work nights in a steel mill, used to go out for a break and see the wonderful twilight in the North in May and June . I love the light nights and longer days and i'm so desperate to dust off my patio table and sit with a few beers on a lovely evening ... dream on !!!!!
Not being funny mate but i think most of us know the weather is full of suprises and living in S.Yorkshire also know we can have snow more often than not . A lot of your posts seem to patronise people and seem to have that winding up edge to them . What is your point ??????
This really is quite funny and i wish i some of you could see it and its no exaggeration . The snowfakes faling at the moment are the biggest i've ever seen some are 4 -- 5cm in length , i'm going to try and get a photo .
Quite big flakes of wet snow now mixed in with the rain , i know this was forecast and i know a lot of you lt like it but god its depressing . May day in the garden earlier this week seems like a distant memory now . temp this time yesterday was close on 10°c today at the same time it 1.9°c
