Wind has continued to drop still breezy though it's 18mph. Temp around 3c and partly cloudy.

BBC news just updated this a few minutes ago
Three climbers are missing after an avalanche in Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands.A party of five climbers are believed to have been caught up in the avalanche in an area known as Bidean Nam Bain, at about 14:00.
Police said Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team was searching for three people.
They said one male climber was safe and a female climber with serious injuries had been found and taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William.
-
6 folks caught in avalanche, appears fatalities
Sad news
I've got Sky News on and they have just said there 3 climbers are missing and some people may have possible injuries.
-
Never got any snow last night or this morning the wind has eased down though.
-
Weather: Sunny spells.
Wind: 22mph.
Temp: 4c.

Today's image still too cloudy though http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/imagery/subsets/?subset=AERONET_Edinburgh.2013019.terra.250m.jpg

Wasn't easy to find but got the 2010 one if anyone wants to see it http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/imagery/subsets/?subset=AERONET_Edinburgh.2010007.terra.250m.jpg

It has been cloudy a lot recently but have managed to see some snow,
15th January you can see the snow in Scotland http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/imagery/subsets/?subset=AERONET_Edinburgh.2013015.terra.250m.jpg
16th January Eastern parts of the UK can be seen but mostly cloudy http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/imagery/subsets/?subset=AERONET_Edinburgh.2013016.terra.250m.jpg
17th January you can make out some of Scotland and Eastern parts but again it's too cloudy for elsewhere http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/imagery/subsets/?subset=AERONET_Edinburgh.2013017.terra.250m.jpg
18th January some of Scotland is clear but elsewhere very cloudy http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/imagery/subsets/?subset=AERONET_Edinburgh.2013018.terra.250m.jpg
Lets hope we get a good image sent in on Saturday.

Not sure if I'm going to get any snow now just too dry the latest radar shows the Island to my North getting a good amount some of it has extended South but it's going really slow still some hope yet. Anyone who has snow or least seen snow enjoy it lol.

My post from the old thread in case anyone missed it,
-
Latest radar taken about 10 minutes ago,
High res NMM model shows snow continuing over many parts tonight and into Saturday for this region and by Sunday morning into the afternoon it should turn back to heavy snow.
-
Hello Ireland here's the radar from about 15 minutes ago,
NMM model shows snow tonight mainly over the North but by Saturday morning and afternoon it could head more South,
Throughout the rest of Saturday and into Sunday morning it shows snow showers becoming more widespread, Eastern parts look to do the best here but snow showers even appear in the far West.
-
Latest radar,
I've just gone through the NMM model it shows snow continuing in Eastern parts and the Highlands as well. Also Northern Scotland can expect something,
And it shows for Saturday into Sunday morning mainly Eastern parts again seeing the best of snow but it does spread over Edinburgh, Fife and Glasgow something to keep a watch on.
-
The rest of the day here stayed cloudy and dry, temp dropped a bit more to 2c, wind still strong and currently gusting to 50mph.
-
A island to my North is now getting snow so close to me I hope it moves South.
-
Met office have once again failed, utterly, to predict this. No orange warning for the areas that needed it most even though NMM and yr.no hinted at this squall line. Why the hell did they fail to issue warnings for the right areas just a few hours before it kicked off? They have improved in recent years but this was quite a poor show IMO
Yes best to use the Scottish Met Office now and our SWM
Still dry here and wind picking back up again top gusts recently touching 50mph temps are still low though.
-
Temp still at 2c I should mention the wind is gusting up to 44mph and both my weather stations say the wind chill is -11c at the moment
Just ran a WXSIM forecast and it said the chances are looking good just got to wait and see now.
-
Temp here down to 2c rarely does it get that low and it's still dropping another 5 to 7 hours before the snow is meant to arrive so I hope the temps continue to drop.
-
Weather: Cloudy dry.
Wind: 32mph South East.
Temp: 2.5c.
-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2635167 - Updated Friday night and Saturday - looking good!
They've even bothered to give me snow too,
-
Gusting up to 55mph here! Temp is 5c but the wind chill is freezing.
Although the forecast is showing snow still for my island the wind is coming from a SE direction I've ever had snow from that way it's always been a cold Northerly that brings the snow for here.
All I want is to see scenes like this again,
