  1. Yeah apparently its not awesome there as elsewhere but should hopefully explore some of the better areas with snow.
  2. Im hoping theres enough snow still laying about for Tuesday for when i return to the Midlands. Hopefully with little sun forecast and temps at 1c at best, thawing should remain slow.
  3. I must say and I think for many, especially in the West Midlands, better snow wise than Winter 10/11 and the best winter for some considerable years for snow?
  4. It looks like a bitter week for pretty much everyone now. Certainly eyeing up snow potential again next Friday ish and possibly in rather similar areas to present maybe a little further south. It seems like heights will start decreasing significantly from Tuesday so snow showers possible for a time and then by the Easter break, currently there is a good chance for more disruption. Like December 2010, milder air keeps getting pushed back. As much as I want Spring, im very interested in how long this can last. Would be quite something to experience one of the coldest March's on Record. Unbelievable contrast to last year but then again this time of year is the best time for contrasts.
  5. Yes in my opinion, Dudley Council does a very good job a lot of the time. Ive been told the roads around Merry Hill have remained clear during this snow. Meanwhile it looks almost inevitable that were going to face more snow before this cold spell goes, and this time ill be back home for it!
  6. ECM 12z.... Mid Winter carries on till at least 240 with more snow opportunities. Crazy!!!
  7. Whats your snow totals thus far guys? Im reading the buses in the West Midlands are a nightmare so I assume youve had quite a bit!
  8. SATURDAY: Cloudy, a few brighter spells in West Cornwall and Channel Islands but DRY! Kernow's Forecast: http://cornwallweather.moonfruit.com/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://cornwallweather.moonfruit.com/#/channel-islands/4573977985
  9. Yes this is very true. I remember going go karting once to the Full Throttle Centre in Mill Race Lane in Stourbridge Town. In Quarry Bank, there was a fair amount lying snow albeit very wet (probably about 4cm) however as you lose elevation, usually as you then enter Lye or alternatively via the Amblecote road, Hillfields Road and then especially down Vicarage road towards the War Memorial Athletic ground, there was basically nothing on the ground then. All that difference in about 2 miles as the crow flies!!!
  10. Finally someone speaking some sense in here. Many in here need to seriously lower their expectations Its marginal above and ground temperatures are marginal. Making it VERY Marginal. Id just be grateful for seeing snow fall. Not happy with it, stop looking outside and do something else.
  11. So damn right, nothing would ever make me move to the south east. Overrated, overcrowded part of the world. Here is where nature and serenity is at.
  12. Indeed, I would love to see more people joining the discussion here in the Summer. It a shame really how the interest is generally just snow for most when imo, Thunderstorms can be awe inspiring and if Britain has its usual winter, there can be more Thunderstorm events than snow events in Winter. There are some excellent thunderstorm forecasts here in the summer in a much less biased atmosphere than experienced under snow. I strongly encourage more people to check here throughout the year, let us know how hot its been where you were example.
  13. Quite eerie here actually. Its quite misty but you can tell the sun is trying hard to break through as the sky has gone pretty orange!
  14. The amount of worry in here is incredible. Just be pleased your seeing snow at the back end of March in what is turning to a real Cold month. If your struggling to see accumulations now, chances are most probably wont see more than what they woke up with this morning, maybe slightly more. I may do a forecast for the Midlands region later. Because I care. But because I still hold this thread needs some forecasting input. I shall how to deviate from my Cornish duties.
  15. Simple explanation. Rugeley Power Station. Get out of the area.
  16. Guys, there is one vital ingredient missing from this thread... PICTURES!!!
  17. Showers here now but SAT24 shows sunshine is so close by, now around the Lands End/Scilly area.
  18. Dont know why there are sad faces about the rain right now. I predicted it yesterday, the models predicted it yesterday. Snow tonight but it looks like being a bit of a flop on the amounts unless tonight lives up to expectations, ground may be a bit too warm but im not sure on that one.
  19. Yep brightening skies..ish in west Cornwall which is earlier than expected.
  20. Dodgy conditions for most for the rest of the day in terms of rain/snow but looks like a fair bit of snow for all tonight.
  21. As I alluded to earlier on though probably got drowned out in the mass of ramping, Im not surprised to see the rain part of this has been upgraded a bit especially in central parts of the Midlands.
