    I appreciate this isnt 100% on topic but why do you think this? A lot of bold statements in here recently but no reason to support it. Hasn't the GFS been arguably the most consistent in the last couple/few days? Shouldnt a little more weight be given to this especially when its the ECM which has showed signs of moving to the GFS today?

    Could be similar to today. Blitzortung was near 14,000 strikes on the map for much of this afternoon over Europe. Very active day. Think tomorrow however for the SE that heavy rain is the main focus. Not worth getting too excited about at this stage imo as these situations can change even now and especially in recent years where the trend is for continental imports to decide they suddenly don't like the UK and buggar off elsewhere. Could be even worse from now on following the EU elections... LOL.

    Any evidence for this unsubstantiated claim thus far? Generally the Atlantic is pretty quiet at this time of year but its just unfortunate right now the trough is stuck in our vicinity.

    I would hope if there is anywhere most likely to see something thundery today its down here! Sea/wind convergence here setting up a stationary line of showers. Some threatening skies around and already had some heavy rain so will be interesting to see if anything more occurs.

    Seems to be some sort of sea driven convergence here in west Cornwall today driving a stationary line of heavy showers. Already had some fairly heavy rain. Dry currently but looks like wet for the rest of the day. Maybe a chance of a rumble or two?

    Hehe. Great pub/restaurant there today. Very modern, clean and stunning views. The Helford Passage was one of the most tranquil places I have ever been to.

    Excellent GFS 12z and 18z for here in Cornwall next week. High pressure building in and warm, sunny blue skies again! Quite a change since when I last looked at the charts yesterday I'm sure? But then other models arent looking so great so lots of changes to come. Both extremes on offer tonight.

    Dark skies to my south in Falmouth. Some slow Moving downpours are our greatest problem here. Looks like thunderstorms will struggle to get going over here.

    Does anyone elses radar here on Netweather keep going blank pretty much at midnight recently? Takes a while to get the radar back sometime after midnight.

    The one near Exeter was probably False. Looks pretty certain this is just dynamic rain now.
