I did not specifically say you must spend it alone but you seem to have a very strong aversion to normal social situations to the vast majority of us. Each to their own but you don't have to remind us everyday that those incessant bleedin sun rays are creating some sort if nuclear bomb effect. :lol:Oi - I've got every right and reason to moan, and if the tables were turned in my favour rather than that of you lot, the suicide rate would be about 85%. Imagine if it rained for the hours of sun we get and that the damn sun shone for the actual hours of rain we actually get? Whether y'all think I'm a weirdo or not is irrelevant - I think you lot should be locked away but that's unlikely. Blizzards why do you equate not spending Friday night in the pub or lolling around in a crappy beer garden as 'being alone'? I don't get that bit at all. Wish I'd been on here June 2007 so's I could have had a good laugh at y'all moaning and wailing about that bit of rain we got to interrupt the sun. Jeez - some folk need to buy a helmet. As for getting on folks wicks for my incessant moaning, how d'ya think I feel when all I'm confronted with is daft sun worship and glorification of all that's crap about summer - ie all of it? Ye I could avoid it but so could you if I upset you so much - and much as it winds y'all up I'm as entitled to moan about it or praise it as the case may be; we get what we get. Just hoping that next summer is a total washout - let's see who's moaning then.

22c. Cracking day.

Here here. Anything social or even slightly normal is deemed absurd apparently. We know laser guy that you hate the sun and warmth, but don't consider the rest of us abnormal. Let us live our way and we will accept your way!you really are becoming a bit of a pain mate, everyone to their own, but you seem unable to let that be.I am sure by now everyone that has dropped in here over the last couple of months has read your preferences, but it would be nice to simply let folks enjoy what they want to enjoy without making such a song and dance about you being different every time we log in here?

It's a way to lead a good social life. What could be worse than working all week then to spend the whole weekend on your own?On the other hand, there's those folks who go straight from work into the raging cauldron of Friday night summertime nightlife or the horrors of a 28C beer garden. Makes you wonder what goes off in some folk's heads, it really does!

Lovely, sunny and warm! Tomorrow looking good for the most part too.

Yep, a lovely warm September for me please. Any low pressure is only going to bring stuck in the middle crap of 14c and rain. Will please barely anyone. Only come November when any cold may bring snow would that be of preference to me. I only like the cold when there is snow about. Makes it more interesting. Cold on its own is just horrible and you end spending ages in stuffy rooms. When I was younger I didnt mind more cold and snow but now I am living a very busy lifestyle, I much prefer warmer, sunnier conditions.

Geez, more cloudy dross oop North it sounds. Here it has been a pretty sunny and warm afternoon here with the sun appearing since about 12pm! It was quite hazy at times however and didn't become clearer till about 5pm but a lovely afternoon on the whole. Tomorrow looks excellent and time for another BBQ!
Really pleased with this summer. Yes this month hasn't been very exciting bar the first 2 or so days but its been very useable generally and that's all that matters to most with a busy schedule.

Careful guys. Already some are treating next weekend with certainty. Have you learnt from this weekend? Certainly a trend towards something cooler but after this week where the models have a made a fool of us ALL week, I wont be fully accepting what is shown till probably T72.
Looks like my timing back to Cornwall will be perfect to get closest to that Azores High! hehe.

16.17 sunset in Truro, 15.54 sunset here, 14.56 in Lerwick (coupled with a 09.06 sunrise!)
Ouch for Lerwick there. They certainly do get both ends of the spectrum though very well!

At least in Southern Cornwall over the Winter I will get some of the longest daylight hours in the country! However its still rather insignificant as the days are still pretty short. Dread to think how depressing it is in the Shetland Isles at that time!
-
Mild at best today. Annoyed to see how much cloud tomorrow will now see. Monday looks good though. Pretty much everywhere suffers more cloud tomorrow, except Cornwall!!! Cant wait to get back there. At least there will have some of the best sun amounts over Winter too!

Depending on what part of the UK you live in its just 3 months and 21 days till the days will start and get longer again the way the months fly by these days it will be here before you know it
The time the sun is setting in Darlo now is the same time as it sets in in mid April only in April its getting longer instead of shorter
Yep, I dont mind a bit of the extra darkness around Christmas to make the Lights have that extra effect. Other than that the darkness is just a nuisance and unhealthy in long bouts. Just think, by September 21st, we are half way there till things are on the upward trend again!

You have to be kidding me I swear in the same way Shropshire has a sun shield, you guys have a heat dome
20c max here, a truly dark and miserable day with not even one break in the clouds!, thundery looking skies all day but mostly dry until around half 4, raining steadily again now.
Thank goodness bar Tuesday it's finally looking much better next week, low 20's and plenty of sun..in fact I don't want to jinx it .
Nope, just about 24c though. Was very humid despite the cloud. Did turn dark very early tonight though. Rather misty too.

Whilst I still dont think much will happen, esp for the South, the NMM suggests the West Midlands region will have some of the greatest instability in the southern portion of the UK.

Really warm today up to 24c.
-
Well there is already thunder happening!
Where? Nothing recently.
Whilst every situation is different it seems a few have not learnt from past events. Very rarely does this set up deliver imo.
-
I forgot the charts control the weather.
Very funny but Im sorry, there is nothing that shows me there will be Thunder. You will 90% be likely disappointed. Very isolated rumbles I wont exclude but it seems some like yourself are expecting proper storms. Its not happening.

Dont understand where the Met Office are getting this thundery potential from. Chris Fawkes last night was ramping it up like nothing before. The charts show NO thundery potential. They are just covering themselves. Just a usual rain band tonight folks.
-
Looks like tonights rain will sit just East of here. Heading for another rather dry month here imo.
-
Looks pretty juicy tomorrow night.
Does it? Doesnt appear to be any real thundery potential - just a few heavy bursts of rain.
-
A rather disappointing day in the SE today especially in London with on and off rain today on my visit there. Sun broke through a little later. Didnt stop a good day out though. Weather was far better at home though.

I'll be losing an hour and 10 minutes of the day from now until I start school again in 2 weeks; from 0546/2031 to 0616/1953- I'll be waking up in the dark again; strangely nostalgic and also peed off at that!
I take it you have quite a way to travel to school with that early start then! Thankfully for most wake up times which is 7 for many, it should be the end of September before any darkness around waking up, maybe early October.

Looking like Bank Holiday finishes better than it starts! Overall, I'm very happy with the forecast for the latter part of August. Not much rain in the forecast for the Midlands after Saturday.
Put it this way, if someone offered me 2013 type summers for the rest of my life, I'd be more than agreeable!
Have any summer synoptic fans on NW not enjoyed the 2013 summer for any reason?
Precisely, I dont know about other regions but for us in the Midlands, a very good summer. Sure August has been very average but June was pretty sunny, average temps, July was just outstanding and August has been a mix of everything. Im happy with that!
