Cant really understand why people would want a storm that could cause damage but each to their own I guess. I certainly find it sad how some people are so critical of the Meto when they are only going on the model information they receive which of course has shown the POTENTIAL for a large storm. Still is going to be very windy in the far south for a time, still could be a strong gale. 18z GFS clearly shows all is not resolved yet but dont dismiss it because it isnt showing what you want. That is very foolish.

Back in stourbridge for a few days now. Will be windy in Sunday night/Monday but certainly nothing special here. Would be interesting to still be in Falmouth this weekend!!!!
-
Hmm no storms for the SW tonight, all went to CS and SE areas instead it seems. Hopefully something in the night.

Forecasts for tomorrow are incoming.....
Tony at UKWW going for low risk of supercell development and a strong risk of tornadoes in the South.

Yep, looking great tomorrow. Looks like some particularly heavy downpours and thunderstorm will reach Cornwall tomorrow evening. Met Office symbols are very keen on thunderstorms here tomorrow evening.
-
Horrid conditions here now with strengthening winds and heavy near torrential rain at times at the moment. Went dark and misty quite early on this evening too.
Hopefully some more thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon! Met Office symbols are keen!

Welcome to the forum and a very sensible first post imo! Very clearly outlined and I very much agree with your thoughts. I think there will be very little cold weather before Christmas this year. Could get interesting on the wind and rain front though!

It's not funny now hehe
Not stalking promise..please do carry on. From a lovely part of the globe.
Sorry. Hehe. Sadly only the coast seems to manage on to a decent chance of thundery weather at this time of year. Will bring some back to the Midlands with me next weekend though.

Gales likely for the south coast of Cornwall tomorrow night. Nasty day. Thundery showers Tuesday again?
-
Yep more chances this week coming, like this weekend. Cornwall and Devon look to have the most persistent risk. With Southerly winds that only makes good news for here.

Kicking off in Worcestershire and Staffordshire I see now.

Very happy with this weekends thundery weather. Began with some downpours last night and a few flashes around 9pm, some more rain and lightning around 1-3am then another thunderstorm at 11am ish.
Its great to be on the coast at this time of year as not only can you get a good view out to sea, in most but the stronger set ups like today, convective stuff fails to penetrate inland much.

Never heard of it hehe good news as more excitement heads your way..
Please report storm number six later why don't you
Currently wall to wall cloud with a few brighter bits, temps soaring to the mid teens later, a few darkening bases expected in the very far distance later.
Sounds like thrilling weather there. hehe. Warm sunshine now. Topsy turvy!
-
Wrong thread lol! We did get a blustery shower in the wee small hours and one half an hour ago so nah nee nah
Haha
I thought my thundery post would jazz things up in this thread. We have had some of the highest temperatures this week, sunshine, hail and now thunderstorms. Not a bad week! hehe - Will be back in Stourbridge for a few days next weekend though
-
Lots of torrential rain, hail, lightning and some thunder here in Falmouth today and last night. I see things are boring as ever at home.

Lovely thunderstorm in Falmouth 30 mins ago with torrential rain and hail. We have dine pretty well for storms down here this year IMO
-
Lovely little thunderstorm about 30 mins ago with some really torrential rain and hail. that's about the 3rd or 4th lightning cell now.

Looks to have calmed down for now as that squall or similar has passed through. Plenty of showers behind so perhaps further thundery chances later in the night.
-
Personally for tonight it will be very unlikely to see much past the Coast IMO. Daytime will be better. But for the night hours it's just us lucky peeps on the coast. Still the odd flash here. :DProbably not worth your money in fuel coming all the way down here in kernow.I've stopped just south of Brum. I'm not liking the look of the radar/lightning detector with the lightning activity staying out to sea it would seem. I am considering if its worth me travelling amy further as Cornwall is a bit far even for me.

Lightning here in Falmouth again. I love the coast in these situations.

16c here tonight in Falmouth. Lovely and warm. Long may it continue until any cold weather can actually bring something exciting instead of
Horrible 6-9c and rain. Still shorts weather here and that heating is going to be needed possibly at all this winter. The palm trees don't exist here for no reason.

Mild here today despite the rain at times. Was torrential around 5.15pm. Should be some good heavy showers this weekend, especially on Sunday. Warm.

Whats to be excited about here anyway Conor. It was never going to be that windy, especially for you in the NW Midlands. We have nothing to miss really!
