Looks like the squall will past just East of here. Very nasty on the M5 though as the squall line pretty much follows it, except Gloucester.

Yeah some sferics this afternoon but they look to track East of here along with the squall line.

As ive said many times before, I completely agree with you. I find it totally bizarre how a few people dont want to the light which enables more social and productive activity. I find it sad how people wish the days away. There are better things to do with your lives than worry what position the sun is at. The light and sun is the giver of live, it enables the lush green and scenery that grace our Spring and Summer. What does winter bring? More deths, more accidents, more people with depression... apart from the minority here who jump up and down with joy. Totally odd. But each to their own I suppose. I will respect each others opinions but to me, wanting darkness is a totally backwards thing to me and counter intuitive. I do not mean this any disrespect at all but I wonder if there is a link with who prefers the dark/hiding away from the sun and their social life. I reckon its lower/off less quality on the whole!

Really kicking off over Bristol now. Blitzortung shows a line of sferics now developing. Will probably pass east of here though.

Yep you missed storms on Friday and the hottest day in 7 years on Thursday! Widely 30-32c in the midlands. Almost 33c here and heathrow got 34.1c!

You got your rain following the heat that you so wanted and now you don't want it!!! Haha. I give up.

Beautiful! Despite no real full on storm, some cracking Lightning displays in the end!

That storm in the North Sea is huge. Also the one north east of the Faroe Islands is only just dying out and has been going pretty much all day!

A long way to beat the every 10s of CG lightning witnessed here earlier. :lol: But at least you have something.

Yep all gone quiet now. Thats probably it for the evening. Not fantastic but some bloody good lightning on show. Hardly rained though.

Lightning detectors going quiet now. Did see a couple of stunning lightning bolts though. One lasting a good 2 seconds or so streaking across the sky!

Lightning detectors starting to go rather quiet. Thought we had something big brewing up there but nonetheless it was nice to have something a little closer.

Gone all quiet again!!! But yes so far a couple of absolutely stunning lightning Bolts - amongst the best I've seen!

Still a few faint flickers from the storm to the North. Thought I may have seen a flash from the black mass near me too but might be wrong.

I dont know, could be. Defo not the best storm here though. We have had better than whats described here before though. Incredibly black to my SW, and no it isnt because of nightfall. Cant believe nothing is coming from it.

Another wave entering SE Wales. Meto suggests this will happen for some time. Very dark to my West. Nothing happening and only a few spots of rain. Thats how much this has weakened sadly.

Some nice lightning every 30s or so at least from the storm to the North.

Where, probably down by Gloucester im guessing.
