Paul ,thanks for the website BBC southeast today. I felt very proud to be looking at that video and being part of the team. The video even though short, really does justice to storm chasers generally, and Mike being the professional he is pointed out that its not an easy job "chasing" with long hours on the road etc....

Hi IAN, we are currently sitting under a lot of cloud strong easterly winds and a temp of 11.5c. [Just saying that to make you homesick!!] I dont think so!. Hi , yeah we have had a fallen tree in my dads stable not far from Cheltenham. The vale of evesham weather station measured a gust of 33mph this morning ,but of course it could be a stronger gust depending on where you live, my guess across the Severn valley we could have had gust in excess of 50mph and due to full leaf foiliage its not surprising some trees came down.! This is an unusual direction for strong winds, but check out for strong winds in the summer ,Ithink it was [without checking] July 2003....

Its quite a shock coming from the storm chase and finding the weather not to dissimilar to Northern Texas! Thanks Paul, Anticipation is building, and hopefully the storms will be as well! I think its a good thing, things are quieter at the moment on the plains, mother nature needs a rest too....But by the time we get there things will be starting to fire up......hopefully!

Youre not old fashioned, you must be reminiscing!But I would not call 1975/76 normal summers? 1975 was very dry, which made the famous summer of 76 drought stricken and of course some very long hot weeks in that summer , and the global warming theory, youre as confused as everyone else.! This year, well one thing is certain, {well almost} it will rain at some point at wimbledon! A more sensible post from me on this topic will be on here very shortly!
