  2. Surely an overcooked GFS Channel LP? ....I know it's March and all that - but.....
  3. ....I mean to say - what is the chance of this next Tuesday rush hour?
  4. Yes - sounds daft but Snow for me is always welcome in December for the obvious festivities - which hardly ever delivers especially at Fylde altitudes. Obviously we have gone looking for Mountain Gullies and Ridges in "Alpinesque"condition out of these months sometimes as far as April (Easter) but we were younger then.......!
  5. if the GFS 00z is anything to go by Winter has not gone away - a week off but could be some interesting weather in store next week.
  6. 00Z Alba - Winter really does bite back. Albeit 8 Days off - one to watch.
  7. What do they say? A false sense of security? 06Z Mon and Fri. Must admit - I've enjoyed the last weeks weather - long overdue.
  8. 17 Degrees Preston tomorrow. Welsh February Temp record has gone.
  9. A "Like" in a sort of way maybe it's an age thing but that Sun is quite good.... Ive not been out in any real conditions this "Winter" a minor snowy trudge up in the Langdales nr Sargeant Man and freezing rain around Ambleside was particularly testing pre Christmas and thats about it.
  10. I like Winter for what I do (did). ....but it does go on a bit.
  11. Westmorland Gazette POLICE are warning people not to travel unless absolutely necessary and thousands of homes have been left without power as Storm Erik continues to lash South Cumbria. The first 'named' storm of 2019 has battered the area overnight with the wind and rain set to continue through most of the morning. Trees and powerlines have been brought down with almost 7,000 homes in Grange-over-Sands, Kent’s Bank, Allithwaite, Kendal, Ravenglass and Ulverston left without power. Winds have gusted to 55mph with some the chance of gusts hitting 70mph in coastal areas.
