  1. Absolutely stunning spring day here. Gin Clear skies and just a gentle breeze from the north east. Currently 15.8c Not looking forward to later when the breeze is meant to pick up!
  2. Much milder han expected with sunny spells and a high of 17c
  3. Colds spells have consisantly been downgraded in the short term and warm spells upgraded. Look a this weekend and early nex week for example.
  4. Anyone got any thoughts as to why we are seeing temps of around 3.5c and drizzle when the uppers at the moment over East Anglia and the South East are between -8 - 10c?
  5. Hence the 'Only one run though and could reverse back tommorow' . ironically these charts would probably provide lower mins and maxes as the winds would be lighter.
  6. Does anyone know why we aren't seeing any snow associated with this precipitation today when we have uppers around -5 - 6c, a current temp (here anyway) of 2.2c and and dew point of -0.5c ? We had snow the other day with a temp pf 3.3c, uppers of -1c and a dew point of +1c

  8. I would say the Euro high usually brings damp mils weather in the winter with south westerly winds. The Scandi high on the other hand can bring veery cold from the east during the winter months.
  9. Very good point Paul - its easy to think that this cold spell is going to continue but there is going to be a blip over the next few days. It will be interesting to see how this Atlantic weather feels after such a long period of cold blocked weather with virtually no wind. Also looking forward to some slightly wild weather.
  10. Oh right, an innocent mistake for sure, hopefully it will be put right when they open a new thread. Anyway, lots of snow falling here, will nip over to the other thread to see whats happening just over the Essex border.
  11. Hi, I believe those from Essex are meant to be posting in EA discussion as strictly speaking Essex is in East Anglia
  12. Bit lost, I consider my self in East Anglia but which thread is for Essex? I personally found it much easier with just the one thread, especially as what weather was effecting East Anglia and been moving south to affect the south east and vice sersa tomorrow evening.
  13. Very odd forcast on look east with talk of showers turning to rain tomorrow - is this really the case?
  14. BUSTED! From time to time we get a new wind up merchant who wants to spoill the good mood, but they usually make silly mistakes meaning they only last a little while on here. Anyway, over to find the ignore button now.......
  15. I am quite surprised to see temp has rapidly dropped from 4.7c to just 2.1c since the rain started 20 mins ago. Its not heavy but then its also pure rain, not even sleety. Can't say I was expecting anything and thats why the temperature has surprised me. I am currently under the -1c isotherm so it will be interesting to see what happens.
  16. Its definately there and it actually skews the rainfall intensity and accumullation shown by the radar in that area. Rainfall often appears to be very heavy around the Hampshire area only to reduce in intensity as it moves away from that area.
  17. I would urge people to remember last Monday nights event when the Meto quite correctly predicted the northern extent of the precipitation. The GFS said it would just clip the extremem SE whilst the Meto model quite rightly predicted the rainfall would move further north with more significant snow - this was their Meso model suggesting this. This time its the other way round but I would have more confidence in their prediction based on last weeks event. That said, I still struggle to see the ingredients for snow with such high uppers, although the Meso model must be predicting these to stay well south of the UK
  18. The temps here were very low all day untill an hour or so before the front arrived when they rose to 0.2c from about -4c at 4pm . They have now droppped back to 0C and the snow is coming down thick and fast.
  19. A rather odd thing to say as I worked in Chelmsford today and I can assure others it did indeed snow and settle. Clearly a wind up post here, shame really as it spoils it for others.
  20. Steve, I have -3.1 as the cloud has now cleared and a dew point of -4.5c which seems very low. That said areas a little further north west are experiencing dew points around -5c
  21. Well, imagine if we had a repeat of this! One can only dream!!! http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ba0_1234844438
  22. Cloudy and damp, 5c. I have yet to record a temperature below 2.3c and am waiting for our first frost to cut back the summer bedding / bananna plants etc.
  23. As of yet, still no appreciable frost here yet, with the min being 2.1c . I don't think I have ever known it to get so late in the year before any ground frost. I still have Bananna Plants, Dahias, Geraniums and Nasturshams totally untouched by frost, which is certainly unheard of around here. Keep expecting thins to change but nothing yet. I might post some photos if anyone is interested.
  24. Hi, I am also stuck on last nights Radar. What can I do? Strangely the future Radar feature is working.
  25. Warm and sunny with just a few clouds. Light winds and a current temp of 21.6c making it yet another stunning Autumn day.
