  1. Still some patches surviving this morning, but I'm not sure that they'll see the day out.
  2. Yes. I enjoyed the snow, but this spell has long outstayed it's welcome now. Was originally supposed to be gone by Friday and it's still going to be cold on Monday. Ready for some nice mild south Westerlys, but it looks like I'm out of luck!
  3. It's just stopped raining here. If it freezes now, it's going to be hellish with the slush and snow melt.
  4. Definitely slipping South of us here now, maybe good news for Wolverhampton and Black country.
  5. Yes, quite bad now. Settling on the main road, unlike yesterday. I'm glad it's a wfh day!
  6. Covered over again, but not as much as yesterday, but it's still snowing, quite lightly for now. Edit. Actually much heavier again now.
  7. Hello, what's that popping up over Liverpool and Cheshire? Inland convection in January? Very strange.
  8. About 5cm in my part of Stoke. Doesn't look like there's any more, wind is Northerly again.
  9. I'm really not sure about last summer being a complete slog? Maybe in the South & South East especially, but for most of us North of Birmingham, the first half of summer was dull, cool & often wet. Even after the heatwave, things only returned to "normal" summer conditions, with a mix of weather, although dry did dominate. Just go and take a look at the regional threads for North West England or The Midlands for June and early July.
  10. Always a delight, when you got to the last page of the mad thread 1st thing, and see that the 1st post was 9 hours ago!
  11. More like drizzly light rain now. Disappointing not to get a white breakdown, but my fingers, toes and bank account are certainly looking forward to the higher temperatures!
  12. No snow here, but plenty of ice. I love snow but hate the cold! Especially when it drags on like this. I think it was 2010 that finished me off.
  13. Yes it is. Sadly, it's beginning to look like it might only be a temporary respite. So sick of being cold.
  14. Really puzzling that the earlier showers were sleet over Cheshire, yet 100m+ higher here it was still sleety. It can often be rain in Crewe and snow in Stoke. I suppose the lapse rates must be quite low.
  15. Even the leftovers that are reaching Stoke is only sleety rain. Very surprising.
  16. Must say, it never crossed my mind that what did fall might be sleet, or even rain, but there it is.
  17. Yeah, a bit of cloud coming over now, but I doubt there'll be more than a light flurry, which would still be very welcome!
  18. I've noticed that they do tend to show on short-term models these days. Much less local knowledge required than used to be the case.
  19. Looks like showers beginning to head towards the Cheshire gap, but moving so slowly, it doesn't look as though they'll survive the trip this far.
